It came very close to happening between two Big 10 teams in 2006.

That’s when all my suspicions about the phony big ten came to life. Every talking head on ESPN and their brother were clamoring for Mich and OSU and look what happened they both got killed.

never going to happen. Maybe the alabama part, but they would never put two teams from the same conference in the National Championship game.

It's very unlikely, but it is possible. However, you would need one team to be undefeated & the other team from that conference not only to be 11-1, but all the other major teams to have more than one loss (at least in all the major conferences) and probably that one loss would have to be close....it'd be an almost "no other option" scenario

I watched the replay of the '96 Bama game last week and noticed that we still had the interlocking UT at mid field. It had escaped me that the power T at mid field was that recent.

Anybody know what year it switched over?
