What team will draft Eric Berry?

i dont know if the titans arent tanking this season on purpose... they should start now. what has happened to them?? on a good note, if they lose every game(which isn't out of the realm of possibility) i can watch berry's magnificent pro career

Did you see the Titans today? They need a QB in a bad way.

It is obvious that Fisher does not believe in Young. Collins actually had -7 yards passing with 2 INTs. That is worse than Russell. Never seen a QB do that bad.

I do think the Titans will get their act together and win more games than the Lions though.

The problem with the lions is that they have no talent on their roster other than a few players.

Fisher named VY the starter going into last season, and aside from the stunt he pulled, he has done nothing to lose his job, I think we're cooked at that position too, but I can't figure out why they didn't try to trade Vince or just cut him instead of trying to go the cheap route and let Haynesworth get away. You don't find many disruptive forces on the DL like Haynesworth. He was worth every penny, and deserved to be the highest paid DL in the league. Now they are suffering the consequences for disastrous roster decisions. They let Carr go to free agency instead of locking him up...that too has come back to bite them in the bum, in a painful way.

I think Bud just needs to clean house. I hate to send Fisher packing, but this mess is 100% on his shoulders, and he's the most conservative, play it close til the bell rings HC I've seen next to Fulmer. You have an expensive gift horse sitting on the bench, and run another off (Haynesworth) cause you just didn't want to pay the guy what he was worth. I don't get it.

They need to put Vince in and see if he doesn't reignite some sort of spark, coming off a much needed bye week. Kerry Collins was just serviceable last year. He was never a franchise QB, and has bumped around the league for a reason. Last years run, made fisher aloof to reality...even 6 games into the season, he still hasn't awaken to the fact that Collins is not the answer. He has sucked as bad as any player on the team.

Probably the Lions.

We desperately need somebody in the secondary. We just drafted Delmas, he can hit and all but we need a ball hawk back there. Our pass defense is the worst.

We just got shut out by the lowly Packers. I think the Titans will win more games than the Lions and i can also see them taking a QB.

The Detroit Lions draft Eric Berry.
Them getting Stafford was a good decision, finally. They kept trying to rely on budget-level has-beens, when QB has always been their No.1 need. If they had taken care of that years ago, they would be in a better position today.

They did have a good draft last year, so another one of those and they might be going somewhere.

I would prefer,, as a titans fan, to have colt mccoy over sam bradford.... Eric Berry would be my top pick though, cause the titans are hurting on D right now. and receivers wont stop dropping balls.

As much as i would love to have EB stay in the great state of TN, the Titans need a QB bad. If Vince Young isn't the answer, then you have to draft another franchise QB.

you say "another" like they've actually succeeded in the past

Please not the Raiders! Where ever he goes I hope it's somewhere in the Southeast so we will get to see him play.

Does Al have enough of a mean streak and is he vengeful enough to draft Eric Berry and then never ever let him see the field? I know, preposterous, except, it's AL freaking DAVIS.

I doubt that the Titans will draft berry because I seriously doubt that the Titans will retain a high enough draft pick to get EB. Assuming that the Titans finish as bad as they started, my guess is that they will trade down to avoid having to put up a huge amount of guaranteed $ for a Top 5 selection. If there is a new collective bargaining agreement in place that caps the signing bonus for first round guys at some relatively reasonable level, then things might change. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

I'm guessing that EB winds up in Detroit. Those folks are crazy about trying to assemble teams through the draft.

0-6 Buccaneers
0-6 Rams
0-5 Titans
1-5 Browns
1-5 Chiefs
1-5 Lions
1-4 Bills
1-4 Raiders
2-4 Redskins
2-3 Dolphins
2-3 Panthers
2-3 Seahawks
2-2 Cardinals
2-2 Chargers

Titans season is over. I am crossing my fingers they can get a top four pick. Problem is... that might not be enough. I think Berry will be a Buc if he enters the draft. The Bucs still run the Tampa 2 and obviously Eric Berry knows the system because he is playing in it. Under the guy who invented it no less.

Bucs no longer run Tampa 2.

Tampa will be drafting a QB.... book it.

No. Just drafted a qb in the 1st round.

You are correct, I'm no expert and it's only my personal opinion. But I do have some family members who are season ticket holders and they have heard the following about potential players that the Tampa organization is looking to draft:

QB: Sam Bradford, Oklahoma (depending on shoulder status)
QB: Jimmy Clausen, Notre Damn
DT: Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
DT: Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma
OT: Russell Okung, Ok. State

More and more rumors are stating that Tampa will most likely go OT because of their lack of run game, and pass protection. And yes, because if they can't get an Elite QB, they would like someone to be able to come right in and help protect the qb that you said, Josh Freeman.

Not a snowball's chance in hell they draft a qb in the first round this year. They reached last year to get Freeman and they now have to give him the opportunity to become their qb.

EB goes to the TITANS and I am getting a 14 on my back, The 1 in UT O&W and the 4 in Titan blue on blue.

How about that for a first posting!

I just posted a friggin novel over on the Titans Central MB about why I think EB should be a Titan...but I was educating my fellow Titan fans who don't know what we Vol fans already know.

So I had to fill them in....

As for where he goes...in my heart of hearts I hope and pray its the Titans but I dunno. After yesterday, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't have the #1 overall pick and go 0-16 and with the love affair Bud Adams has with Texas QB's, I could see him telling the front office to draft Colt McCoy...but great Jebus, I don't want another Spread Offense QB.

Orange Pearl, I think you're right. I could definitely see him being a corner for the Titans if they drafted him. He also fills a need in the PR & KR duties, even if he's not really doing that for UT. And IMO, I think its the safest, smartest move they could make: draft Berry, play him at corner for a few years, move him to S when Hope retires/gets cut, it would shore up the backfield for years with Finny, Berry, and Griffin....but I doubt it happens.

Its too unpredictable now anyway. We don't even know if Fisher will still be there for crying out loud....

Warren Moon, Steve McNair, Vince Young. We don't see it so much in Nashville because Bud is not here much, plus the man is getting older and he probably doesn't get out as much, but the guy is VERY proud of his minority status as a Native American and I think he takes special pride in putting a minority at the helm of the team in the QB postion. Don't be surprised if Fisher is gone in 2010 and VY is the starting QB.

I say it will come down to which team has the biggest need in the secondary, as to where EB goes. Here are the NFL defensive back rankings thru the first half of the season.

NFL Stats: by Player Position

That's part of it certainly although I think that if you are one of those teams that has a good secondary and is capable of making a run in the playoffs you might want to trade up for a Berry and use him on special teams, prevent & dime packages, and general depth.

If he could somehow play throughout the season like he did in the preseason, I have no problems what-so-ever with that--I was VERY impressed with how well Vince played.

That would be alot of money to spend on someone who is not a starter. I also don't think EB does that well on special teams, at least I have not seen it from him this year. The money he will demand in the 1st round you have to make him a starter.

Personally I would like to see him go to the Colts, but that is not going to happen. EB in the Colts D would be a huge improvement.
