What team will draft Eric Berry?

#51

0-6 Buccaneers
0-6 Rams
0-5 Titans
1-5 Browns
1-5 Chiefs
1-5 Lions
1-4 Bills
1-4 Raiders
2-4 Redskins
2-3 Dolphins
2-3 Panthers
2-3 Seahawks
2-2 Cardinals
2-2 Chargers

Titans season is over. I am crossing my fingers they can get a top four pick. Problem is... that might not be enough. I think Berry will be a Buc if he enters the draft. The Bucs still run the Tampa 2 and obviously Eric Berry knows the system because he is playing in it. Under the guy who invented it no less.

Berry is staying for his senior year.

Exactly...if he get's drafted by the Raiders, how sweet would it be to give Al Davis some Kiffin payback by pulling an Ely Manning routine and refusing to play for them, and insist on a trade?
He could do it and there would be 31 teams willing to make the trade.

The Titans need to take either Berry or Suh (Nebraska DT). I think the Titans have a worse season than TB, honestly. They made a few critical mistakes.

One, letting Haynesworth go. They had every opportunity to lock him up the past few seasons and they tried to low-ball him all the way. For that reason alone, they deserve a winless season. Win you have a REAL gamechanger, you don't funk around and let him get away. Haynesworth was worth 2 good DT's salary, and IMHO...the GM needs to go. This whole Cheapskate philosophy needs to go with it. The team had plenty of salary cap space to pay Big Al, and where has that decision gotten them now?

Promoting Chuck Cecil to DC has been equally disastrous. They've had injuries, but that doesn't justify their record.

I still think Fisher's unrelenting loyalty to Kerry Collins is an equally catastrophic mistake. Vince Young may not be the saviour, but he was THE guy before he got injured early last year. He's the same QB that they had at that point...Collins did well enough as a backup to help us continue to win last year, but he always was and still is, and average to slightly above average QB...who often plays at a well below average level. And Fisher has hitched his wagon to Collins, even though he has struggled to make routine plays consistently this year.

He can make excuses all season long, but the losses will keep coming. The wheels have come completely off.

We'll have a shot at Colt McCoy, and I would package VY and another player or later rd pick for a mid 1st Rd (to get some DT help). I still think Suh should be a high priority as he would help make up for letting Big Al go.

I hope not with McCoy because I don't think he'll be good in the NFL and nobody is going to give anything significant for Vince Young. In fact, they would be doing the Titans a favor by taking his 10+ million contract and giving the Titans compensation in return on top of it. Vince Young is in his final year anyways unless the Titans pick up his option. I am pretty sure that's correct anyways. His option is 12 or 13 million. Titans aren't going to pick it up. Vince did say he would restructure his contract though... I don't think he'll restructure for the Titans to trade him unless it's to a team he accepts. He would just take his 12million for the year or become a free agent and go where he chooses.

If I recall correctly they have Carolina's first round pick

That pick could end up fairly low then. I don't think it will be low enough for Berry so you're pry right. Would probably have to make a trade to move down if they want Berry.

Saints, Broncos, Falcons, Jets, Bears are well on their way to playing themselves out of the Berry sweep stakes. I think they all have already actually. They all have at least 4 wins or more.

Duly noted:

20 San Francisco 49ers
21 Atlanta Falcons
22 Arizona Cardinals
23 New Orleans Saints
24 Jacksonville Jaguars
25 Miami Dolphins
26 Denver Broncos
27 Detroit Lions
28 Kansas City Chiefs
29 New York Jets
30 Chicago Bears
31 San Diego Chargers
32 Seattle Seahawks

I still think Fisher needs to get his head our of his tail and remember where Collins was when we brought him in...and how a rookie was placed ahead of him (a veteran), and Fisher saw enough in camp last year to determine whether to keep it that way. He is still too intoxicated with last season's surprising win streak, to realize that Collins has not been the answer anywhere he's ever been.
Vince has never been given a legit chance to win back his starting spot. If Fisher can misjudge Collins worth from practice reps, then the same can be said regarding VY. I think the team resents his stubbornness to not even attempt to allow VY a chance to spark something, and has mentally given up. They have the horse they need to run the wildcat package at points in the game and their stubborn refusal to use it may cost someone their job.

VY isn't worth 10-12 mill at this stage, and the Titans will likely just cut him if they can't get some trade value.
He will have to accept a lower contract either way.

I know the Titans aren't on that list but they may as well be as an honorable mention. Tom Brady has thrown 6tds against them and that was with 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

I've had Titans season tickets ever since they came, and even I am laughing about this fiasco.
Personally, while there is a lot of reverence in the league for Fisher, this kind of dropoff is downright inexcusable, and he has ALWAYS been the stubborn, ultra-conservative type. He has ALWAYS been content with just keeping the game close, and trying to squeak out a win at the end.

I don't know that a HC change is the answer, but it wouldn't upset me any if we brought in some fresh blood.
It may be Bud Adam's doing, but the Titans have always been a cheapskate team. How much sense does it make to let a real gift horse go because you don't want to pay what he's actually worth, but then to squander the same salary on a guy you're determined to ride the bench? That's a key reason they are currently winless.

Stupid, utterly stupid personnel decisions. Chris Henry was one of them as well. That's a recent 2nd and 3rd (Paul Williams) rd pick that has been CUT...not traded. Somebody at the top needs to go....Reinfeldt first.

Yeah I was surprised there are 12 teams in the NFL with a worse pass defense.

Probably the Lions.

We desperately need somebody in the secondary. We just drafted Delmas, he can hit and all but we need a ball hawk back there. Our pass defense is the worst.

We just got shut out by the lowly Packers. I think the Titans will win more games than the Lions and i can also see them taking a QB.

The Detroit Lions draft Eric Berry.

Monte Kiffin is a legend and one of the greatest defensive minds ever but he didn't invent that defense. My Pittsburgh Steelers was using that defense to win four superbowls in the 70's.

Both Monty Kiffin and Tony Dungy have said that repeatedly.

Berry is staying for his senior year.

Only if both his parents are employed. He already said if they are still laid off he will enter the draft. So better hope for a boost in the economy. Though, I would love to see him in that #14 for his Sr. season!!!!

My bad.

Adolf Hitler is a legend and one of the biggest weirdos ever but he didn't invent steroids. His chemist created them so the Germans would have an unfair advantage in the Olympics and so the Steelers could win four Super Bowls in the 70's.

Sorry... had to do it. :)

Hope the Cowboys
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Hope not. I don't want to hear about Eric Berry seven years from now getting pulled over with a transexual prostitute, a half gallon of jack, while high on PCP. The Cowboy's culture sucks.

Wherever he goes it will most likely be a bad situation. I am a Lions fan, and although I love EB, I dont want to see him come to this terrible organization. But then again I would love him here. It is hard to say, I dont think the Lidowns would pass on a big time defensive lineman like Gerald McCoy. It is tough to say. We should wait untill the draft order comes out.
