What team will draft Eric Berry?

I know. I was just saying that bc CMK is @ Tennessee now. It will always be called the Tampa 2.

Yes, I'm sure. And I was even watching the Carolina/Tampa game today and they were talking about how Ronde Barber has had to adjust to more of a cover corner and play more cover one ever since CMK left. They still run some of course, just like most teams, but their main coverage is man.

Was just giving you a hard time on the first thing.

I will trust you on the second thing. I haven't really seen any Tampa Bay games. I just figured making Monte's assistant a head coach and knowing the Tampa 2 played a role in his hiring.

Looking at all the records posted. I want him to go to the Titans and the only team I don't hate are the Bucs and Seahawks. So many teams I dislike with losing records.

I would love to see the Titans draft EB14 and then trade Vince Young to Arizona for Matt Leinart. I know alot or maybe all of you think thats stupid but coach Fish is a USC guy and a change in scenery might do both QB's some good.

The titans have to be one of the worst teams in the NFL and it is more noteworthy since they were 13-3 last year

I blame the wide receivers and defensive coordinator. Also, Jeff Fisher.

Kerry Collins places the ball where only his wide receivers can get it. Hits them in the hands. They drop it. Even when they are wide open and he hits them in the chest... dropped.

Then the defense. They lost Haynesworth but way should the defense be just completely also. The bigger loss by far was losing Schwartz. Their is a reason he was given a head coaching job. I am starting to question why Jeff Fisher is still one. Schwartz is doing better in his first year with an 0-16 and a rookie quarterback than Fisher is doing with a 13-3 team that only lose Justin McCarriens and Albert Haynesworth. 16 seasons and has never won a Super Bowl. He has the chance to build the team 4 times over and can't win it. Jeff Fisher needs to go in my opinion.

Titans are on pace to lose like 80-0 to the Patriots right now.

That's one wager I'd be glad to make. Unfortunately I don't know you personally to make that bet.

Josh Freeman was the 17th pick, is currently a rookie and has yet to take a snap. No way they draft another quarterback

You are correct, I'm no expert and it's only my personal opinion. But I do have some family members who are season ticket holders and they have heard the following about potential players that the Tampa organization is looking to draft:

QB: Sam Bradford, Oklahoma (depending on shoulder status)
QB: Jimmy Clausen, Notre Damn
DT: Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
DT: Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma
OT: Russell Okung, Ok. State

More and more rumors are stating that Tampa will most likely go OT because of their lack of run game, and pass protection. And yes, because if they can't get an Elite QB, they would like someone to be able to come right in and help protect the qb that you said, Josh Freeman.

I like Jeff Fisher but if they stick with Young another season i believe it will be the end of his Titans coaching career. Between Vince and Pacman they have had some poor decisions. Young has to go and they need a franchise QB. Would love to see Berry play in TN but they need QB worse. IMO

I hope the Bucs draft him so can go watch him live in action! Monte has alot of connections in the Bucs organization but it would be tough to tell with all of trading up that goes on in the draft based upon team need. They lost I believe their sixth game today!

I doubt that trade would happen but a more realistic trade would be a 4th round pick for someone like Erik Ainge. He isn't anything special obviously but he is accurate on short passes and can consistently hit guys on post routes for 10 yards. He has good rhythm. Vince Young can't even get on the field when the team is 0-5 and down 31-0 in the first half. That's about all I need to know. I think he should play out the rest of the season to see what he can do. I am willing to pass on a quarterback this year to get Eric Berry. There will be a lot of quarterbacks to choose from next year. I think anyways... I guess it depends how many juniors come out. If the Titans wait til next year they could choose from Jimmy Clausen, Jake Locker, Jevan Snead, Christian Ponder, Ryan Mallet, Jacory Harris, Kellen Moore..... The last three would have to enter early. The rest could enter this year but have to come out next year if they stay. I just think Eric Berry is too good to pass up. Also, I am not sold on Bradford anymore with his arm and I don't think much of Colt McCoy. Reminds me of a glorified Tony Romo coming out of college.

I live in Charlotte and a lot of people around here have been calling for the coaches head and calling for another QB just like Titans fans are.. It's ironic how similar both teams were last year with strong running games and veteran QBs and how similar they seem to be this year as well...

Some fans here are talking about wanting Brady Quinn and I think that is a horrible idea. Atleast I haven't heard any Titans fans making dumb statements like that.

Going for offensive line makes sense when you're protecting a young quarterback. Running the ball is also essential. Passing on Suh might be hard to do though if he is high on their list. He is a beast.

I am confused. He hasn't played for a season and a half minus a handful of plays. He does hold a record of like 18-11 though. They may as well play him the rest of the season because they are going to be 0-6 when the click strikes 0.

:lolabove:

Well he does. :p

I see a similar style in the two. Only difference is Romo didn't go to a big school like Texas. Went to Eastern Illinois or something like that. I have no idea what school it was but it wasn't good. I think he ended up getting drafted in like the 4th round though. I am sure you move Romo up to Texas and he could have succeeded at the college level just as well as Mccoy has. Which would have raised Romo's draft stock. If you move McCoy down to a bad school he would still tear them apart but he isn't a 1st round pick. He pry goes wherever Romo went in the draft.

I personally think DT: Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska is the player they select. But he will be gone by no later than the 3rd pick..... so if they have pick 1-3, I think that's who Tampa will select. It's obvious that Tampa is trying to go in a totally new direction defensive wise.... I mean why else would they let go their best Defensive player in Derrick Brooks??? That was a huge mistake on their part. I know the guy is old, but he's been their key defensive player for many years.

P.S. *Other than QB if they can get the best 1 available.... lol

This game is over and there's still a long way to go before the clock strikes 0. You can go head and count Tennessee @ 0-6

Tennessee looks horrible

Justice in Nashville, TN (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Williamson County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible..

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Tennessee Titans Football Team, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

If I'm not mistaken, my Niners have an extra first round pick this year. And they need help at safety. I'm hoping for a Bill Walsh-esque draft-day trade to move up and snag Berry.

Berry and Willis on the same defense? I'm liking the thought of that

Titans have the worst pass defense in the NFL, they probably need him the worst.

No pressure on the quarterback doesn't help but I agree. I think he replaces Harper at corner if the Titans draft him. Titans could use a fat boy in the middle though and a younger defensive end for the future. KVB is always hurt and Kearse is up their in age. Ford appears to be a specialist. Wish he was more of a regular.

Exactly...if he get's drafted by the Raiders, how sweet would it be to give Al Davis some Kiffin payback by pulling an Ely Manning routine and refusing to play for them, and insist on a trade?
He could do it and there would be 31 teams willing to make the trade.

The Titans need to take either Berry or Suh (Nebraska DT). I think the Titans have a worse season than TB, honestly. They made a few critical mistakes.

One, letting Haynesworth go. They had every opportunity to lock him up the past few seasons and they tried to low-ball him all the way. For that reason alone, they deserve a winless season. When you have a REAL gamechanger, you don't funk around and let him get away. Haynesworth was worth 2 good DT's salary, and IMHO...the GM needs to go. This whole Cheapskate philosophy needs to go with it. The team had plenty of salary cap space to pay Big Al, and where has that decision gotten them now?

Promoting Chuck Cecil to DC has been equally disastrous. They've had injuries, but that doesn't justify their record.

I still think Fisher's unrelenting loyalty to Kerry Collins is an equally catastrophic mistake. Vince Young may not be the saviour, but he was THE guy before he got injured early last year. He's the same QB that they had at that point...Collins did well enough as a backup to help us continue to win last year, but he always was and still is, an average to slightly above average QB...who often plays at a well below average level. He has bounced around the league for a reason...a reason that seems lost on Fisher. He came in as a serviceable backup, and how our winning streak last year magically changes that is beyond me. We struggled mightily on offense in many of those wins. Big Al and our defense was the reason we had the success we had...not Collins. Fisher has hitched his wagon to Collins, even though he has struggled to make routine plays consistently this year.

He can make excuses all season long, but the losses will keep coming. The wheels have come completely off. The best thing he could do at this point is to put Vince back in, in order to give him a few games to see if he can be the future at QB or not. If not, then it's imperative to get either Bradford or McCoy (Maybe even Tebow....regardless of the knocks against him, I think he's going to prove a lot of NFL "experts" wrong).
You have to get a franchise level QB...can't win in this league with Budget Rental guy at the pivotal position on the team.

We'll have a shot at Colt McCoy, and I would package VY and another player or later rd pick for a mid 1st Rd (to get some DT help). I still think Suh should be a high priority as he would help make up for letting Big Al go.

Will be hard if they make the playoffs. Currently 1st in the West. Who are they pick for with their other 1st round pick?

One of these 12:

21 Atlanta Falcons
22 Arizona Cardinals

29 New York Jets
30 Chicago Bears
31 San Diego Chargers
32 Seattle Seahawks

Saints, Broncos, Falcons, Jets, Bears are well on their way to playing themselves out of the Berry sweep stakes. I think they all have already actually. They all have at least 4 wins or more.
