What sport impresses you more now?

The way the basketball team has improved and the exitement it has created is great. In the next five years which sport promises more success, football or basketball? I truly believe it is basketball.

ah, football is still number one in my heart, and you can't deny the direction the football team is headed. it's pointed in the right direction...i do think that the TN bball program has positioned themselves for championship type success in the more immediate future than the football team, but a lot of that also has to do with the level of competition, relatively speaking, between the two sports.

6 SEC teams in top 10 recruiting, 4 of which in our divison.....coaching by and large in football is better...as is the overall talent pool....it's more difficult imo in football than bball.

SEC bball has made great strides the past few years, but consistency from more than one or two teams is needed for it reach the same level as the football teams in the conf. and you are starting to see that....FL obviously has made their mark and likely won't be going anywhere for a long time. TN is definitely on the rise. KY is the stalwart tradition rich program that may be down, but won't always be and should most every year be a tourney fixture. then there are a half dozen other teams that are pretty good.

compare to the football....6-7 teams each year legitimately compete for SEC titles and BCS bowl bids.

Agreed all the way around. I'm biased a little bit because I have never really watched Basketball until Pearl came along. However, I have always loved football. I played it from the time I was six until I graduated high school.

The football in the SEC does attract more marquee players and overall has better coaching. Basketball is now on the rise in the SEC but I could never see it rivaling football's popularity.
