What should the first play of the season be?

A 3 yard run is better than annexing a territory you already own, so I’ll take it.
The Annexation of Puerto Rico was a trick play in the football movie Little Giants that came out when I was a kid. All joking aside, I do expect a solid year from Bishop and the rest of the RBs. Hopefully they can open up the offense some more this year, and there will be more explosive plays with a new QB at the helm.

Boo return KO to T 40; Merk short right to Brazzell for 15.

I had not thought about who our kickoff return guy would be this year. I like Boo for it, a lot. Maybe use Radarias Jackson for punt return. He had a couple of beauties on his high school highlight video. Go to the 12:24 mark on the video below and you can see a. Excellent punt return.

I really like Rad, he has a very high ceiling imo. I'm a little leery about using any WR to return this year. I would like to see a guy like Barnes or Poteat back there.

I say deep ball for a touchdown. Didn't we do that one season?
Pretty much. 2022, opening game, vs Ball State:

First play, Tamarion McDonald intercepted John Paddock on the first play of the game.

On the second play (first for TN), Hendon Hooker connected with Jalin Hyatt for a 23yd TD. Time on the clock: 14:37. And thus the tone was set for the season: TN was going to score very very fast all season long. 23 seconds into the season, TN had scored!

I’ve been driving the Rad Jackson hype train since before he committed. I think he was underrated even as a 4*. Kid has crazy upside. Fast, physical, great body control.

I still remember when my dad had box seats. In the 90s, there was a family who sat near us and one of the guys was like a broken record; always said the same thing before the 1st play of game and several times throughout:

"Give it to (Jay) Graham..."

"Second and long, all day long!"

🤣
