What school has the most obnoxious fan base?

The most obnoxious fan base believe it or not were UK fans in 2007. They were ranked for a change, they upset #1 LSU the week prior, and Gameday was in Lexington for the first time. A fight almost broke out when we started setting up our tailgate tents next to a couple UK fans' tents who were looking to start trouble. That was a first.

The height of modern UK football. Gameday in town. It felt like a dream.

From personal experience its LSU by a mile. I've never had a problem with any Alabama fan, but given that two of their fans are currently serving time for poisoning trees and tea bagging an unconscious rival fan, it feels like they deserve a mention.

It was a bizarre Saturday. As soon as we stepped foot on campus, there's a couple bubbas wanting to fight because we set up our tailgate next to theirs.

Then we go over to Gameday, and a handful of locals broke out the time tested "Walsh is gay" smack as we walked by. When Corso picked UF to win and put on the Gator head, you woulda though he took a piss on the UK logo in the middle of Rupp.

I can always say I was in Lexington at the peak of UK football, but damn...y'all really didn't know how to act.

in my personal experience it's bama by a mile- i remember when julio jones came to town: there was this group of bama fans in their 40s-50s drunk as skunks screaming "JULIO!" (among some other words that were aimed at the surrounding vol fans) every time he even jogged onto the field

then south carolina- cocky bc they've never had it before, i guess itll get better...but i doubt it, and sandstorm should be banned from every sporting event bc they alone have worn it out

then vandy- nuff said about that

then florida- have heard horror stories from my father and mother from the early and mid 90's when they would go down there every year...ur usual florida stuff: throwing piss bottles, drunk jort-wearing rednecks...never had problems with one personally

uk fans have been fine every time ive been up there, except when they beat us a couple years ago...ud thought they won a national title that night

the rest have obnoxious fans just like we do but not nearly as bad, although ive never been to baton rouge

honorable mention to ucla fans for being cool, wasn't heckled at all and had a lot of good conversation...the way it should be on gameday

but im young enough to where ive not been a "target" for smack talk too long, so my personal experiences are incomplete at the moment

The scariest walk back to the car was in Knoxville following our OT loss to you guys in '98. My other 8 trips to Neyland were uneventful as far as obnoxious fans. I get a random "Gators Suck" from a frat kid, usually traveling in a pack of frat kids, but that's expected.

I've attended the Cocktail Party in Jacksonville every year since 1984 and I've seen the worst in both fan bases.

LSU fans are rowdy, but in my travels to Baton Rouge I noticed if you can handle a 50 year-old Cajun yelling Tiger Bait directly in your ear, that 50 year-old Cajun will invite you to his tailgate and feed you some of the best grub ever cooked up outside of a football stadium.

I've had no issues with Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss or Vandy fans. The Mizzou fans we tailgated with in Gainesville were great, and we exchanged contact info so they could return the hospitality when UF comes to their place later this season.

Ive never been to Kyle Field, but from all accounts Texas A&M fans are easily the friendliest in the conference.

And of course, when I'm in Gainesville I like to sexually assault the opposing coach's wife while throwing batteries and piss bombs at rival fans...but not before slashing their tires, busting out windows and keying "Go Gators!" in the hood of their rental car. If I'm feeling really good I'll punch a random elderly rival fan in the face, then steal their wallet.

Well done. Gators suck!

LOL. "Walsh is Gay" is our go-to phrase, I guess.

In all honesty it's probably us. I've seen our fans jump rival teams fans, I've heard our fans cussing out kids wearing Gator or Bama gear. In 98, I saw one of our fans knock a Gator fan out for Gator chomping. I've been hit by food that was thrown at a rival fan....

I just don't get it, the majority of our fans are great, but we have a bad reputation among other fanbases. Because our fans get carried away.

I got on Rivals main board a while back and it seems the only Vol fans that post there are trolls. And we're the laughing stock of that board.

Alabama. No explanation needed.

Followed by Florida. I knew several UF fans that went to grad school with me and they were just miserable. Completely unprovoked in your face about how they did things in Gainesville, but couldn't take any criticism. Real sensitive bunch.

LSU fans can be, but as someone pointed out, they are just passionate and will usually give you a beer & some gumbo.

Oh, and outside the SEC, I have to agree with whoever said Texas. Texans in general can be pretty obnoxious, but TX fans are like that on steroids. And it is really annoying to hear them try to claim they are UT when they were founded about a 100 years after us.

Never had too bad of an experience on the road. Worst I had was Cal fans, just a lot of trash talking, especially after the game.

Next was probably Miami fans after the game and threw their drinks on my friends.

UCLA fans just didn't give a crap and were cool.

Vandy fans tried to talk trash but I just laughed at them.
