As usual, there's alot of talent in SEC teams, but think it's more evenly disbursed this year. LSU lost QB and OC and talent. UGA lost most of their offense. Bama appears best, but LSU and Auburn beat them, so the air of invincibility is gone. 8-2 is a good number...rolling thru SEC teams every week will be tough.Provided we have a freaking season, I'm predicting 8-2 either wins the East or ties. 7-3 might even have a chance at a tie.
Georgia and Florida each only have to play 3 ranked teams. One of those 3 games is against each other. The winner of it only has to get by two other ranked opponents.
So if they split those 2 hard games, that puts the winner of the East at potentially 9-1. I think that's quite possible. 8-2 is just as likely. One of those two records will win the East.
Unfortunately, even if the Vols are able to split our 5 ranked opponent games (yes, we have to play almost twice as many ranked foes as UGa or FL), even if we're able to split wins with our 5 ranked opponents, that doesn't get us to the division crown.
Just the way the scheduling ball bounces.
This is true but after the Vols beat the Gators both UF and UGA will have another ranked opponent on their schedule.Again, you leave out the fact that within the division, there is only one opponent Florida or Georgia can play that is ranked and that is each other. That's why the number of ranked teams is what it is.
