What really went wrong in Knoxville? THE CAL PERSPECTIVE

USC has won 5 straight PAC10 Titles.

That's not gonna help anyother team with recruiting.

Somebody other than USC needs to win the PAC10 if you wanna spread out the recruits.

Hey we tied USC last year and we had to share the title! I know it aint great, but it's a start.

you all have them at home this year, don't you?

Yeah, and we really need to win. I know our beating them seems laughable to many in here but we did beat them in 2003. Yeah that was a while ago but it shows we can hang with them. That was the year they won the AP National Title.

Still, they are nowhere near as good as yours. So if we do somehow, someway win this year that will present an interesting result.

I remember watching I believe in 02 or 04 and Aaron Rodgers was nearly perfect like 23 of 23 or something like that and then he threw like 2 or 3 incompletions on the last drive at the goal line. I think in order to beat USC you have to slow the pace down and try to take some of there weapons out of it, but it seems as if most of the teams in the Pac-10 are to stubborn and want to play it wide open and I don't feel thats the way to beat the Trojans.

Considering you guys went to the Holiday Bowl, while USC took a trip to the Rose Bowl, I would say USC got the better deal.

Very true. But winning that game was one of the most magical moments of all time. In OT we somehow won. We really did it, we beat them. That is how I feel about you guys. If we can just win we can really get some respect, if only for a moment.

Wow, you know your football! That was the game Aaron tied the NCAA record with 23 straight completions. The last drive of the game we got down to like the four yard line and blew it. Man that was a real heartbreaker. That was supposed to be our year. Aaron should never have left early to go to Green Bay and sit on the bench waiting for Brett to retire.

Is that a tie with Tee Martin by chance?

Looking at Cal's schedule, they have a realistic shot to win the Pac-10 if they can defeat USC. The only other 2 games in the conference besides USC that they may lose would be to UCLA or Oregon. I would say at worst they will split those games so it'll probably come down to the USC game to decide the title.

I just wish I could pick up more of the Pac-10 games. It's an exciting brand of football.

Wow! Dude! You rock! Thank goodness you come out late at night because your friends in the day time love to denigrate it. NOT all you, but most. (I have to be careful what I say because I have two attack dogs that watch my every post.)

UCLA could be tough because we have not won in Pasadena during the Tedford era. I still think this year we will smash them (UCLA) there this year. Good thing is we have USC @ home so we won’t have to go down there for that game also. Oregon St. and Arizona look to be trouble. USC is always the real threat.

The best game I watched last year in the Pac-10 was when Cal drilled Oregon. I watched both the Arizona and USC games in which both were tough losses. Wasn't it your team that in a bowl game the backup qb or runningback that never played got the ball in the final seconds and scored and it really upset Tedford.

Yeah! He grabbed Steve Levy's mask (the QB) and yelled at him. Much to Levy's chagrin. The whole team wanted him to get the ball so hid did, and he scored. Good for him...
