What questions would you like to hear asked of Lady Vols players or coaches?

Out of the new players who seems to be the best lockdown defender?

How are Civil's offensive skills compared to Cooper's?

Who among the new players has the most reliable three ball?

Which player, either new or old, has surprised you the most with their development as they come into the start of the season?
I think she answered some of these in the presser. Civil has similar skill set to Cooper. No three ball player. The other two were not asked I don't believe.

I think the biggest takeaway from Coach Caldwell’s interview was that she actually came about as close to saying she has a team capable of winning a national championship than she’ll ever get as a coach that describes herself as someone who is not a “positive coach”.
Yes, that’s speakly figuratively and she uses this philosophy to push her team/program to reaching high expectations.

Every season fans perhaps coaches find ways to nitpick a team so I fully understand her cons of stating 3pt shooting as a concern. As I watch the returners and newcomers, I can say with confidence this team will not lack the ability/talent to be excellent 3pt shooters. Matter of fact, against LSU last season in the home game we should’ve won it was Kaniya Boyd who was the teams best three point shooter in that game.
Against Ohio State on the road it was Talaysia Cooper who was the best player.
Against Texas in a game to advance to the Elite 8 coming up short in the 4th qtr it was Lazaria Spearman who was knocking down 3s.
Against Connecticut it was Lazaria Spearman who went off on the Huskies.
You win with talent. Tennessee has the talent to make any 3pt shot that the players take that’s a high percentage shot.
That’s the key taking better shots with elite talent will allow this offense to go from really good to great.

No longer tattoos. It is now body art.
Sorry. They are still tattoos. Zero reason to redefine a clearly understood term in broad use. Pretty sure the team refers to them as Tatts.

A small yellow butterfly below the bikini line is body art.

But, you do you.

"Body art" is when I involuntarily sneeze into a white handkerchief while chewing Skittles.

"Top that, Jackson Pollock!"

it really does not matter what they are called the main point is you really can't be a coach than bans players from getting them if you want to have a winning program in 2025. If winning is not a factor then yes that would be the way to go.

Yes, tattoos are considered a form of body art, representing a permanent mark or design made on the body through the introduction of pigment.

Definition and Cultural Significance

Tattoos are defined as permanent marks or designs created on the skin by introducing pigments through ruptures in the skin. This practice has been prevalent across various cultures for thousands of years, serving multiple purposes, including decoration, cultural identity, and spiritual significance. Tattoos can symbolize personal beliefs, commemorate loved ones, or signify membership in a particular group.

To Coach Kim:
Coming to Tennessee, you probably have encountered coaching or evaluation resources here that you'd never had access to. Could you talk about some tools/resources that you've found especially useful for teaching or evaluating your style of play?

Bruised Orange excellent question in reponse to the stated purpose of the thread.

My follow-up question to yours would be "how has her coaching evolved based on the resources she now has access to AND the quality of athletes she has?"

Previously, her style was complimented by playing teams D-3 and Marshall who were not in great physical shape to play 40 minutes at her teams' pace. Marshall was easly beaten badly in the NCAA tourney by NC State when her approach with inferior players met superior athletes who were also in good shape.

Great question. For sure we need to push for that to be asked at the end of this season, when she's had "her" players and a second iteration of players familiar with what she wants.

I'm as guilty as anyone getting distracted from the purpose of the thread--and I'm the one who stated it! I'll respond to something in the alerts, often without noticing in which thread it appeared.

(But I'm sure the internet is having no effect on ADD symptoms.) 🙃 ____ 🐿️

I know this thread is not about answers but I would venture a reporter asking that question to CKC would get zapped by the same "death stare" that put John Adams in intensive care. No one questions the mean chipmunks' system. It is clear she is not changing the system; she is getting the players needed to make it work at this level.

HUH? Where did you get that take from that post? I'm missing where it questions the system.

The system has worked at each level by equipping her players to beat their athletic peers. Now (or next season--given the number of true freshmen we'll be playing this year) we'll get to see how the system does against these players' peers. Those are just facts and reality.

I didn't read anything any different from that in what @stllvf posted.

But I can be pretty naive when it comes to people, so if stllvf is a commie or a CKC-agnostic, I do apologize. ;)

I was not trying to be antagonistic. The question was "how has her coaching evolved based on the resources she now has access to AND the quality of athletes she has?"

If by "coaching," the OP meant something like how "CKC motivates each specific athlete," then fine, I am sure there has been an evolution.

However, I took the question to mean how CKC sets up her team and game strategy (intense-fast paced, lots of threes, focus on winning the rebound battle, mass subbing) . And again, I think the likely answer is that the system is the same but the inputs are better, which should lead to better outputs.

I aked PHS a question with several individuals around me " what player on your roster has improve the most in the last year. Her response was not re one of those growing in the system but Holdsclaw. Did she alter her style, look for areas of improvement - Like taking team to visit the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s to review the two- player offense practiced by Jordan and Pippen.

I would speculate that staying current on the defenses and offensivesets of different NBA and WNBA teams would be a similar area of constant focus.

and BTW Pat Summitt was an easy person to interact (listen to) as a true fan and to watch practice if you were absolutely QUIET.

I witnessed her throw two freshmen players out of practice for whispering to each other versus listening.

I'd love to know:

- who inspired you to pick up a bball?
- where did you learn to play the sport?
- share the stat line from your best game ever?
- describe your greatest career highlight to date?
- areas of your game that you want and need to improve?
- your favorite pro bball player and team growing up?
- your favorite pro athlete from another sport?
- what's your team goal for this season?
- can you beat your parents and or siblings in a game of 1on1 bball?
- if you were to tryout, do you think you could make the roster of any other UT Lady Vol sports team?
- name 4 players on the roster that has the greatest potential to get drafted to a WNBA roster?
- down 2 points, 5 seconds on the shot clock, whom on your roster would you choose to take the game winning shot?
- player on this roster that has the most potential to beat Candace Parker in her prime in a game of 1on1?

Hahahahahaha!
