What pick will Eric Berry be in the 2010 Draft???

1st round is all you can really speculate about. He's going to go to a team with an immediate need at safety.

we can almost guess what team he will go to. if he goes as a top pick he could end up in detroit, san fran, seattle, st. louis, k.c., or oakland, cleveland, or even cincy. i don't see any of those teams doing much better than they did this last season. but i am sure belicheat has his eye on him as he likes to take former vols. i despise the patriots, but we could see them pull some sort of trade to get him. especially with their defense becoming older guys.

The Safety position isn't that highly drafted traditionally...though things have been a bit "different" lately......particularly with teams going with guys they can pay less at high draft positions (such as not taking a QB)....it'll be interesting. I just hope the guy loves working with Monte so much he sticks around for another year (pipe dream).

i don't know but if he stays healthy and has another big year he will be treated as a woodson or deion sanders come draft day. people will want him and he will go fast.

He'll be looked at like Jason Allen or Michael Griffin with the Titans... capable of playing either safety or CB in the pros. But I think if he has a weakness it'd be straight up blanketing receivers so I don't know if someone would put him at CB.

I would say top 5 but with that being said no one knows what kind of year he will have next year.

His height will cost him in terms of being a Top 5 Pick.

Berry is listed as being 6'0 but if you've seen him in person he's much closer to being 5'10.

There's also the question of whether he'll be a Safety or a Corner in the NFL and the scouts will make comparisons to Michael Huff as reasons why not to draft him Top 10.

Um? Jason Allen's stock rose due to that fact. Better to have someone who could play whichever position you need most.

Jason Allen has been a Bust in the NFL.

Scouts like Safeties with Size & Speed.

A guy like Taylor Mays(6'4/220) from USC will be viewed higher than Eric Berry(6'0/218) even if Berry is the superior player which he is.

Berry won't be a Top 5 pick. Maybe top 10, but that's stretching it. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy. He's my favorite player on the team and is the best football player Tennessee has had in years. But, as someone alluded to earlier, the Safety position just isn't taken that high. There are very few exceptions. Though, I think we can all agree he'll undeservedly get passed up and become a great DB in the NFL.

Berry is a can't miss prospect. He could play corner or safety in the NFL and will likely go mid first round should he choose to come out. Eric is the kind of guy though, if he feels like the Vols are on the cusp of something special, he may just stick it out. He will absolutely have his degree before he leaves, but he's likely on track to do that in time to leave next year.

Character and smarts issue seems to be A+.

Tackling is obviously NFL ready. Better than even Jason Allen and off the charts compared to Deon Grant.

Coverage is hard to tell w/out watching film or being at ever game. Seems pretty strong after freshman mistakes.

Athleticism looks excellent.

Size at safety could keep him outta the top 5?

Point? Either way it raised Jason Allen's stock... him performing badly isn't relevant to the situation.

Well...ask knowshon moreno if he should be top 5...then after you ask him ask that Maze guy from Bama'....yeah taylor mays is bigger BUT he's goin in this years draft not next year...

2007- Laron Landry (1st Rd. 6th pick)
2006- Michael Huff (1st Rd. 7th pick)
Donte Whitner (1st Rd. 8th pick)
2004- Sean Taylor (1st Rd. 5th pick)
2002- Roy Williams (1st Rd. 8th pick)

I think Eric Berry is just as good as anyone of these guys selected in prior first rounds....and this is damn good company.....especially sean taylor....the best safety to ever play the game

He is spot on here.... I had a math class with Berry and I'm 6'0" exactly with shoes on, and i was a good 2 inches or so taller than him.

As for what pick he would go, it would most likely be a Top 10... because you all have to consider who would be seniors next year... Qb - Colt McCoy.... WR... Dez Bryant (not a senior) but most likely going pro, you know you'll have atleast 1 offensive lineman go in the Top 5, and probably 1 Defensive Lineman as well in the Top 5... so I believe realistically Berry would be a Top 10 pick. But Berry will be viewed as a Safety for sure... no doubt in my mind there.

Go Vols!!!

Bob Sanders is only 5' 8" and he's one of the top safety in NFL. If you're at the right place at the right time, height won't matter as much. I say, Eric Berry has the potential to be top 3 if he keeps getting better, especially with Monte's guidance. Monte will speak highly of him comes draft time.

Why are we talking about this??? This is like asking what kind of cocktail I will have at my mother's funeral.
