What other message boards are saying (UGA pre game edition)

Maybe it's just who you know. I play golf with a GA fan and he's big into football but never even brings up GA-TN games or says anything negative about the Vols. I lived next door to a FL alum and her sister and parents were FL alum and they were as nice as could be, even sending friendly texts during TN-FL week. I have two families of Bama fans on my street and never heard anything negative or arrogant from either of them. I live across the street from an Ohio State fan and he never rubbed it in during the playoff game. I guess I'm just lucky?

I’ve got GA, FL, Bama, and Kentucky neighbors. The mouthiest are the Kentucky ones. 🤣

Joey looks good so far against two teams that aren’t very good. We were raving about Nico too at this time after he lit up Chattanooga, Kent St and NC St. If Joey struggles saturday and throws a couple of picks the same fans praising him will turn on him and want GMAC lol.

Either way,JA is the much more likable player and very easy to pull for. I pulled for Nico obviously, but he was never someone that was easy to pull for. Actually, quite the contrary. JA's story is great and he definitely deserves good things to happen to him. Imagine his legacy if he beats GA this weekend. We've had so many fans, media outlets etc saying JA would be a downgrade and was an Int waiting to happen. Of course this will be the best D he's played against, but ( knock on wood), to this point he really hasn't even come close to throwing an Int.

Agree the competition will be way different. Hype has shown a new look bringing in the inside receivers to the backfield. This has boosted our offense.

Totally agree - He reminds me of the way football players used to be - happy for the opportunity to play and willing to work hard for success verses some that act like they are entitled.

I'm hoping for a good game next week, not only for us and the team but for him.

Many were also complaining that the offense was, well very, simple at this time last year and it was.

I think this game may be more about our defense against their offense.

“Not sure why some of you are worried. running up scores is what TN does. Against good D, they struggle. 20 ppg vs SEC. Has never scored more than 17 vs UGA”

This is exactly what Chris Doering said on SEC this morning. He says TN is an FCS bully that can’t do that offensively against the big 3 (4-8). He’s right until the Vols do something about it.

Bama 52 FCS? WOW

Stupid. Josh has done it to everyone except Georgia. Also 4-5 since 2022. We've won 2/3 against Bama and Florida. Moronic talking point.

Well he went from looking forward to playing in front what looked to be no more than 20K to 102K real quick. Gotta think he probably is pretty happy with how things turned out thus far. He has weapons all over the field and a competent defense to back him up.

It really puts things into perspective the media's push to always put UT in a negative light. Was it a negative to lose your returning starting QB ? , of course. Although to act like Joey was a scrub was somewhat ridiculous. Anyone who watched last year could see that the games were never put in the hands of Nico. The defense and Sampson handled business for UT last year.

Should be board material for our defensive guys to look at all during practice this week:

"That said, Tennessee’s defense is nothing to write home about."
I need Garner to challenge their manhood.

I remember we had a DT a couple of years ago bragging on Garner to reporters. Garner told him to quit sucking up and get out of here. He didn't appear to be joking either. Best position coach in football.

Are any of them talking about how the line has dropped from -7 to -3.5 in just a few hours this morning?
Don't confuse that with LV now thinking we have a better chance to win. Which team is getting the most $ bet on them changes the line. LV don't care who wins they just want to make $. It could go back up later in the week if GA getting too much action and they need more bets on Vols. LV is very good at what they do.

Heupel is either winless or has one win vs Bama
This guy's clueless. Heupel has two wins over Bama in the last three seasons while Kirby & Richt combined have only one win over Bama since 2008. He should've just talked about Kirby's SEC titles and natties, which actually are very impressive, instead of talking about wins vs. Bama. Heupel didn't let Ryan 💅 Williams take his lunch money. 😅

I don't know, that 53 yard TD pass in the ETSU game is a pick 9/10 times against the top SEC defenses.

I don't disagree with you on your second point, but I believe that the OP was referring to GA as 'This team' and not AP. I could be wrong though. It did come from a GA fan...
You are correct. Fooled me when it talked about Austin Peay in the first sentence and then immediately referred to “This team” in the second sentence. I was too quick in assuming how stupid certain Georgia fans might be.

I think the guy who said that he has seen this movie before is right. This isn't the first time in the last few years that we've come out like a ball of fire and they've struggled throughout the season. Then when we meet each other, they look like world beaters and humiliate us. I'm not saying we're going to get humiliated cuz I don't think that's in the cards this year. But I don't think we can get the win. They have depth. I don't feel like they're A team is better than our A team. It's when we get into second and third string players that we're going to not be able to stay on the field. We do have a puncher's chance. They're quarterback is not impressive. They've got some injuries like we do. We have home field advantage. We can keep this game close even if we lose. But if we hang around long enough, we might steal the game.
I disagree . This is not like previous games with ga. Usually they dominate both lines of scrimmage….I do not think they will do that this year! Their offensive line is not full strength and they are covering for a QB that is not top tier. Their line has not opened holes very well against much inferior dl than ours. They have been average at best.
Ga Defense has been stout….but we were handicapped the last few seasons by having to run a more vanilla offense . I think we will be wide open, with extra wrinkles .
I expect a 27-14 UT win !!

I’m familiar with how it works. That much movement, that quickly, would concern me as a Georgia fan. It can’t only be casual bettors moving it that much, especially this early in the week. If the pros think -3.5 is too low then that will get hammered, quickly, and it’ll move back up. So far it hasn’t. It will be interesting to watch as the week goes on

But the current moneyline is Georgia at -205 and Tennessee at +168.

So LV thinks UGA is more likely to win.
