-Free money on the spread… bet orange. Even if we win, it won’t be by more than 3.

-Dawgs 34, Rocky Flop 17

-Not sure why some of you are worried. running up scores is what TN does. Against good D, they struggle. 20 ppg vs SEC. Has never scored more than 17 vs UGA

-Tennessee may have been undervalued due to Nico situation. This game scares me to death.

-Aguilar being unheralded gives a lot different vibe than previous few years… their WRs look legit… scary even. RB by committee a little more than last couple of years… I just think they look different this season without the hype. And we really look like we will struggle to get ball down the field man…

-I’m not saying we can’t lose there bc we absolutely can but I’ve seen this song before. We play bad, people doubt. Tn plays good, gets the big head, and lays an egg. Gameday coming actually makes me feel better. Heupel is either winless or has one win vs Bama, can’t remember if they were there.

-I think we win, but that’s because I don’t believe Tenn is good. Not because we are good on offense.

-We are the best team in the country regardless of yesterday. Why we fearing the hillbillies? Heupel sucks.

-I'll believe Heupel can beat Kirby when I see it

-Tennessee is not good lol. They haven’t beaten anyone. It’s same ol same ol with them. Looking good now until we roll in this weekend and throttle them back to reality.

-Tennessee is without a bunch of dudes on D. We can run, dink and dunk and even throw screens on them for sure. Gunner sucks, but he can still get some yards on the ground.

-18-17 dawgs - we score 1 TD, 1 safety and 3 FGs. MVPs CJ Allen, Woodring and Thorson…

-We have beaten them every year since 2017 by an average if 3 TDs. It’s a lock.

-The Austin Peay game was an anomaly. Bad weather, hot, an opponent hard to get fired up about. This team is better than Tennessee, I wouldn’t worry.

-Tennessee is going to stack the box to stop the run and force Georgia to pass. Gunner can’t throw downfield. We’re screwed.

-It’s time to give Pugs a chance over Gunner.

-Our o-line is decimated, I’ve got a funny feeling that Tennessee is going to run us out of Knoxville. Similar to when Kiffin did in 2009.

-Gunner can’t throw a forward pass and we can’t block long enough for his 10 second release. Hopefully the defense shows up in Knoxville or it could get interesting.

-We do this every year with bobo. Thinking he’s being vanilla during crap games. Kirby has got to cut ties and get a better OC. Not promoted from within.

-I said this to a friend.. either Gunner and Bobo are trash or, they don’t want to show their hand before the game in Knoxville. I felt they ran the same 3-5 plays on offense all day. Even the third rated ESPN announcers were calling out Gunner for missing wide open receivers!

-we better have an improved product ready for TN than I saw yesterday or were going to be in trouble. TN is going to bring everyone up without a downfield threat and it’s only a matter of time before that quick WR out goes for a pick 6.

-Look on the bright side. Betting on the Vols to win is the easiest money that you will ever earn.

-I haven't been impressed with the Tennessee defense, so don't expect Georgia to stop running especially if Gaston and Greene are able to play.

-Once we get the Vol safeties to move up, it will be interesting to see if Gunner can connect on some deep balls.

-If UT or any team “stacks the box” or moves up on our receivers the read naturally will be to go over them. It will not look the same as it has looked so far this season as there will not be a bunch of defenders deep in coverage. Our receivers will have to beat the close man coverage and I think they can.

-I will hate it if Finebaum turns out to be right about Stockton not being good enough it get us in a playoff game.

-Stockton ain’t it. We’re going to see pugs against tennesee

-If Pugs starts at Tennessee, we will run them
Out of their own stadium.

-Let’s not overthink this, people. Tennessee is NOT a good team. Yeah, they put up some points on a couple of weak teams, but we all know what happened when they actually played someone with talent last year. They can’t hang with us, period. Kirby’s got this squad ready to roll.

-Bobo’s playcalling is gonna be the end of us if we keep this up. I can’t trust the offense right now. Tennessee may not be great, but you can bet they’ll exploit our mistakes.

-Tennessee won’t be able to keep up. The only thing that concerns me is how bad Bobo's playcalling has been. If we don’t get that straightened out, we’re gonna be in trouble down the stretch.

-We have some weapons but can’t get them in rhythm. That said, Tennessee’s defense is nothing to write home about. If we can’t score on them, we’ve got bigger issues.
They keep saying we’ve beaten nobody this year, as if they have?? No disrespect to Marshall or Austin Peay, but I’d say Syracuse is probably a better win imo. Maybe I’m looking through orange colored glasses, but I believe we have looked better in our 2 wins than they have in their 2 wins.

Swaguilar is better than I expected. The oline is playing really well. I love our rb room. D needs to tighten up a little. All this said I will believe can beat GA when I see it. Go big orange!

I can literally name 3 times off the top of my head where we won under Heupel with Gameday in attendance (Florida '22, Bama '22, Oklahoma '24).... I ****ing hate arrogant idiot dumbass Dawg fans, would love nothing more than for our team to shut them up on Saturday
They are the most ignorant fanbase of them all. They know nothing about other teams, bunch of smug bastards.

I just pray Banks did a ton of self scout from last year on Oscar Delp and the Georgia TE’s especially. You know Bobo will go to that well time and time again. We must mix in man pressure, period!!

Man or bust IMHO
Agree - do something different and make their QB miserable.

Kirby makes halftime adjustments on both sides of the ball. So Heup must counter during 2nd half.

I found the below interesting -

2021- TN scored 7 second - half points
2022- TN scored 7 after the break
2023- 0 after the half
2024- 0 2nd half

GA 2nd half points vs Vols
2024- 14 points
2023- 14 points
2022- 3 points
2021- 7 2nd half points

GA has just matched up better against us in recent years and usually wins by two to three TDs. Loaded with talent and their defense has stymied us lately. We got to have guys make plays and have to put ridiculous pressure on Stockton. They usually shake off any mediocre performances prior to playing us and come into this game ready to play. Our injuries on defense doesn’t help matters. We’re going to have to score probably 28+ pts to have a good crack at winning this game.
I agree . . . Except due to our injuries on defense . . . I think we need 38 + to win.

UGA fans have no self awareness. I’ve hated Alabama fans and Florida fans, but I can tolerate them so much more than Georgia. Bama fans have followed a team that only wins for so long that they kinda quit gloating, Florida has been our kryptonite for so long that it’s more of a running joke at this point to both sides, UGA is just horribly arrogant like they’ve never been there before, and they are unfun and unlikeable.

Feel ok about the offense but we need to prep for an INT. QB will have to push that ball some. With that said, this games seems to ride on the front 7, especaily in the 2nd half. Hold the run and keep pressure, we are in good shape. Otherwise, really sloppy/close or a footrace for one side or the other.

Remarkable lack of self-awareness. I'm unclear on this game precisely because they've played bad teams and haven't looked clean on O vs either really. APSU obviously an FCS school. Not sure how good they are at that level... but 28 pts at home against them... really?

Marshall is G-5... who just lost to Missouri State. I know there's no transitive property in college football... except there might be when USCw beat Missouri State 73-13 the week before. Marshall is downright awful.

Syracuse while no world beater is better than anyone UGA has played.

There's not a lot to go on from a direct evidence perspective. Neither has played a great opponent. Both enter the game with questions. UGA's are on O. UT's are surprisingly on D.

We’re overdue. But I’ve got zero confidence. Based on what I’ve seen of UGA this could be our year. They didn’t look good against AP but that means nothing. They could be setting us up.
They are setting us up like they always do under Kirby just sandbagging, don’t fall for it

I haven't looked it up yet, but I think we are in the top 3 or 4 of least penalized teams in the league so far this year...which is very odd for a Josh Heupel coached team.

I swear by this time last year we had at least -100 yds in false start penalties alone.
Better players on the OL for sure

I’ve enjoyed being a member here for awhile now, so I feel like many of you realize that I’m not a rival fan that joined Volnation to just be an arrogant prick or try to stir shite up. Aside from the occasional back and forth respectful banter, I’m a member here to just talk CFB. So with that said, I’ll attempt to give my honest opinion as of right now about our upcoming game.

It’s hard for me to have a confident read on either of our teams at the moment based on the first two weeks, but obviously I am more confident about knowing about GA than TN so I’ll keep it for the most part about how I feel about where the Dawgs are right now.

The honest truth is I’m very worried about this game for a number of reasons, but ultimately I think it will be a close game barring one of our teams just imploding bc of unforced errors and such.

Both of us are dealing with injuries, but on the GA side I’m probably concerned more about our OL when addressing my injury concerns. With an inexperienced QB playing in by far the most hostile environment that he has ever played in, our OL play will make a big difference for Gunner’s play in this game. If our OL struggles, Gunner will not have a good day IMO, and it could spell disaster on offense for us.

My main worry for this game is by far how will the GA offense look. While we do have some serious talent in our skill positions on offense, I have no faith in Bobo’s play calling ability. He is vanilla and predictable, and he has gotten away with it somewhat bc he does have extremely talented skill players and our OL play has been solid for the most part in the past aside from a few hiccups. Can our OL play well enough Saturday against an SEC defensive front? I’m very concerned about this bc if they can’t, and we can’t run the ball, and make Gunner comfortable on passing downs, this thing could snowball into disaster for our inexperienced QB.

This leads into probably my biggest concern, and that is Gunner Stockton. He is a good kid and I like him, and while I’m impressed with his drive and how the team responds to him, I’ve not been at all impressed with his play. He has consistently missed going to wide open receivers down field even when in a comfortable pocket, and it’s much worse when he is flushed out of the pocket. It honestly doesn’t seem as if he even tries to look for them at times when he is forced to leave the pocket. Either he just hasn’t developed the confidence needed, or he in fact doesn’t have very good downfield vision.

Then there is Bobo. I’m not sure if it’s bc he doesn’t have faith in Gunner or what exactly, but his play calling has been abysmal. It’s honestly never been great, but it seems to have even regressed more lately. I’ll say this, if GA struggles to run the ball, we are going to be in big trouble Saturday.

Obviously, another major worry I have is how will Gunner react to playing in Neyland. Like I mentioned, if he struggles too much, this hostile environment could absolutely lead to things snowballing in a very negative way for him. It’s possible that the environment in Neyland could prove to have a big impact on how this game goes.

While I’m not exactly sure how our teams match up across the board, it is true that while GA is a bit young, we are loaded with talented players all over the field. It’s also true though that TN has a big advantage at the QB position. Joey has looked solid IMO and in fact I think he is turning out to be an upgrade over Nico. This also has me pretty concerned.

My hope is that if/when the GA offense and Gunner struggle, that our defense will play well enough to keep us in the game. I think that it will, but we will see. As a few Vols have stated “Heupel is due to have a good game against Kirby’s defense.”

Anyway, I think/hope that this will be a good game. It may seem like I’m coming on here and just poor mouthing GA, but all of these things that I’m worried about are in fact legitimate concerns.

The good thing is that a loss in this game, especially being so early in the season, is not going to ruin the goals of either of our teams for this season.

So at the moment, the above is what I think and how I feel about the game. Ultimately, I do think it will be a very good and competitive game unless one of our teams just completely shites the bed or just gets extremely unlucky. Either way, as stated, I’m worried but I’m also very excited about this game. I’ll probably, like many fans on both sides, be nervous come Saturday morning, but also excited.

My biggest concern is how the Vols allowed the good teams on their schedule last year to totally control time of possession via long, time-consuming drives over and over. In addition to wearing the defense down, it decreased the number of opportunities our offense had by a significant number. Play aggressive defense and bring the heat. Don‘t give this QB time to pick and choose receivers.
