What Other Message Boards are Saying- Purdue

Tennessee is not at full strength by any means. We’ve been short all year. No one seems to acknowledge that fact anymore. Earlier in the season, the talking heads loved to mention Tennessee filling the portal.

Twitter is saying… we probably are going to have our game canceled tomorrow. PU’s QB is doubtful for tomorrows game. WTF is going on.. did they just hide positives during the regular season?

That is insane

They are 97% vaccinated and they don't test their vaccinated players

It just seems ridiculously unlikely that NOW they suddenly show symptoms!??

Don’t hold me to Covid being the reason for him not playing; but I’ve seen nothing of an injury nor opting out of the game from him.

I don't get into this "this conference is better than that conference BS". Mainly because writers/media started stoking that fire for $$$/ratings advertising $$$ etc... The bad thing is most have fallen for it.
My main reason for hoping to destroy Purdue.
Because lifetime backup NFL QB Gary Danielson and obnoxious CBS minion is an Alumni.

I'm not sure some of them have even seen UT play. I seem to remember something similar concerning Iowa a few years back.

The biggest difference in "speed" between the SEC and Big 10 isn't the skill players. The Big 10 recruits nationally and regionally to find guys who can run.... at least 1 deep. The bigger difference is the speed and athleticism it takes to play on the LOS in the SEC AND then the depth of speed at the skill positions.

Purdue hasn't played a tempo team this year. Even very good coaches have commented that you really cannot prepare for it. Was it UGA that used two complete offenses rotating in practice to simulate UT's tempo?

I have always like Brohm. I wanted him at UT. I believe he's a really good coach. I don't have anything against Purdue. I have a Purdue engineer working for me now. But... I can really see this going like Mizzou if UT plays well.

One key however will be pressuring the statue they have at QB. They pass block well. They allowed 27 which doesn't sound great until you realize they had the highest pass attempts in the Big 10- 528. For reference, UT had 334 attempts and allowed 42 sacks. They were better at protecting their QB than Bama. UT cannot allow him to stand in the pocket all day.
Iowa..this seems just like that game. Their fans talked their big 10 nonsense, they played tougher teams, blah blah got blown out by UT.

Sagarin has them at 10 in strength of schedule while UT is 50.

Perdue has played 6 teams in Sagarin's top 50 while UT has played 5 in the top 50 with both having played 2 in the top 10.

Not saying I agree, just reporting it.
SOS also factors in the talent of your team vs the talent of the teams you're playing

I tried to explain this to an OSU fan back when OSU played Florida in the BCS championship game. Everytime I would mention speed he would talk about their WRs and RBs…after the game he finally understood. He was amazed that pretty much everyone of the Gators on the DL could outrun their QB. Florida mauled them…and then LSU beat them the next year. When Urban Meyer went to OSU he brought in SEC level talent along the DL. The rest of the Big 10 have improved but OSU is still ahead in terms of athleticism and spoed in the trenches.

“Purdue played a more difficult schedule than Tennessee in nearly every metric I looked at, and some didn't have the two particularly close. But sure, blame the "body blows" of a tough schedule as to why Tennessee sucks..”

Is this guy smoking hash??

Well lets look at the facts folks.
Purdue did play two teams that are in the playoffs......False. No matter what they say about their SOS the Big 10 is only a couple of teams that come close to the day in day out level of competition of the SEC

I find most of the comments in this thread comical. What I have found in my 50 years as a VOL fan.....Don't ever, EVER bet on the Vols. Unless you enjoy losing money
