What Other Message Boards are Saying: Post-Game Edition - Kentucky

I saw a 60 minutes episode a long time ago that was talking about the Kentucky school system, and low standard of living. It came out during the show that the kids all have rotten teeth because instead of breastfeeding, and drinking formula, their parents feed them mountain Dew... EEEEE HHHHHaaaaah !

Darkshadesofblue is off his rocker. Tenn has scored points all year and the defense made a mediocre offense a juggernaut.

They should build a statue of Stoops in Lexington for what he's done for that football program.

I sincerely hope UF keeps Mullen... and UK fires Stoops. Remarkable that they cannot remember how completely and totally irrelevant they were before he showed up.

They're UK. He's found a way to recruit players that can be developed over time. But to get there, they're perpetually thin. Their 3rd man up is usually someone not ready to play yet.
Rich Brooks had some good years there as head coach too.

It's possible to have winning seasons at UK in football. But a conference championship is a long shot.

We don't currently have a 'third man up'. We're bare bones at every position.

UT starting the season was roughly as deep as UK in spite of guys leaving. UT has recruited better, ready to play talent even when down than UK.

This is something I kept telling guys before the season. UT was thin when compared to UGA or Bama or the top tier. But everyone else has holes. UT's have been made worse by injury. They've played 8 or 9 guys deep on the OL which is pretty typical for anyone. The problem has been the health of their best guys. UT has had 4 guys run the ball effectively. All four have been injured at one time or another.

UT chose not to play some of the WR's right now strategically. They need development and the passing game needed consistency. You'll likely see more guys in the last two weeks

Going forward it will be important how many guys stay for their extra year and how well Heupel plays the portal At this point, those things are more important than who they sign out of HS. Some good JUCO's wouldn't hurt either.

They would have to have a similar situation to what Mizzou caught to win the East. They have virtually no chance of winning he SEC unless something weird happens in recruiting. MU caught UT, UGA, and UF all down at the same time they had some of their best teams of the past several decades. They weren't very competitive in the CG.

If a guy can consistently win 8 games or so at UK and pick off UT, UGA, or UF once in awhile... then they better keep him. That's their ceiling.
