What other message boards are saying (Pitt Edition)

Ya, but there's the opportunity costs as well. If we'd hit a couple open receivers then we would have had double the points at that time.

Speaking of opportunities, this is as good of a time as any to bring up the fact that Milton, not Hooker had the overthrows last year against Pitt. This seems to be a common misconception among Pitt fans that needs some attention and I’m sorry but it needed to be said.

You are absolutely right. I think it was right of you to clear the air about the fact that it was NOT Hendon Hooker that overthrew all those receivers it was actually Joe Milton.

Pitt has never hosted an SEC team? Ever? That's kind of wild.

Most SEC teams won't come north for an OOC game. Kudos for UT for doing so.

Pitt did host Texas A&M and South Carolina BEFORE they were SEC teams, by the way.

After a long discussion between Beattie Feathers, Rod Wilkes, and myself, we determined that Milton and Hooker are in fact NOT the same person. (It should be noted that the Pitt Poster was mistaken...his stats were updated to reflect this). I find it strange, that in 6 pages nobody else had mentioned anything about this.

Auburn plays at Penn St this year.
TN has played at Notre Dame, at WV (if that counts), at Oregon, at Syracuse (98). I may be missing some. They also have an away game at Washington in the next few years.

Agree though...most SEC won't play north. Florida tries to not travel north of their border. They won't play TN, Vandy KY in the colder months. (Typically) Why they always want them in the beginning of their schedules.

Pitt was in 3 consecutive Birmingham Bowls (BBVA Compass) - one was non-SEC (SMU).

Tennessee-Pitt should be a lot of fun ... Last year UT and Pitt played an entertaining game in Knoxville, which Pitt won, and this year the Volunteers pay the Panthers a visit. Pitt won a dramatic game against West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl to start the year and Pat Narduzzi's team is a leading contender on that side of the ACC. Tennessee looked electric and dangerous again in Week 1 but, again, this is a much bigger test. Josh Heupel's squad is expected to challenge Kentucky and Florida for second in the East, with the assumption being it's Georgia's division until proven otherwise, but this will not be an easy game out of conference. If it's a close game I like Pitt's chances. But Tennessee is now up to a 6-point favorite.

Thought I was the only one who noticed that. One reason they're my second most hated team.

Pitt's pretty damned good vs the SEC. Hope we can start changing that today.

I thought UT had a chance to beat them last year but made too many mistakes to get it done. Eliminate stupid mistakes and this is a winnable early road test.
