What Other Message Boards Are Saying: Mizzou Edition

I honestly was just coming to ask about decent bars and find out what the tailgating seen was like. I hope my Tigers win but do realize that it'll be a good game and it could go either way. I was not trying to talk smack and then folks just started jumping all over me.

I'm not a troll by any means, just a Mizzou fan who loves the SEC and enjoys going to games. I just feel like quite a few folks don't really take us seriously, and that's fine. Everyone says we have to earn respect and I can appreciate that. Just feel like there are quite a few double standards being thrown out in front of us.

Anyway, good luck this weekend and I hope it's an injury free contest.

You don't know the nature of this forum very well. We jump on each other too. Welcome to the forum, and as for bars, just walk down Cumberland and you'll find something. Have fun

And then sjt jumped in:
You disagree... or think I posted that without checking first?

Their best WR is Sasser who wouldn't start for most SEC teams. Hansbrough is a system player. He fits what Mizzou does to a near "t"... but would struggle anywhere else in the SEC.

Would Mauk start for another SEC team except maybe Vandy or UF?

Pinkel is underrated. He does a lot with a little when it comes to pure, raw talent. Even last year they turned Sam into an SEC player of the year... he was drafted late and has already been cut. Washington led them in receiving and went undrafted. He's currently on the Brown's practice squad. DGB will go pro but Lucas their third best WR was also undrafted and on the Panther's practice squad. Josey their best RB last year also went undrafted and is on a practice squad. Remember, this is one of the better teams Mizzou has had in awhile.

Mizzou has very good schemes on D and plays them with discipline. Pinkel's love affair with Mauk is kind of mystifying since his O system runs best with a disciplined QB. I give major props to their staff for what they're able to do with the players they have... but they are NOT a very talented team.

Our offense has been hot not our defense.

Our defense is also going to be missing 2 major pieces. Luckily one is only for a half.

And the Missouri defense is way better than the cocks limp defense.

You guys might as well start calling me a gator fan for next year. I wont be easy on OUR vols for that game as well because nobody associated with Tennessee deserves to have it easy when it comes to that game.

Don't jump in a shark tank in which the feeding chart's last entry is two weeks old. :)

Oh you're one of those.

A little success and the reds come a'runnin on back.

2 game winning streak over 2 terrible teams and this board thinks we should be east favorites next year.......

Multiple 5-7 seasons and if we are lucky we will be 1 game over .500 this year.

Better hope Butch Jones can keep bringing in talent or you guys will run him off after next year when we don't go 12-2.

Hansbrough is not a WR. He is a running back who averages around 5.6 yards per carry and is currently sitting at #9 in the SEC for this statistic.

I know you don't feel like we have a very talented team but we have probably the best defense lineman in the SEC playing for us in, Shane Ray. If you're not familiar with him, you'll be a little bit better acquainted on Saturday evening.

On the opposite side of Mr. Ray we have Markus Golden who was out for the Indiana game and has just recently gotten back to his full health. So, I would think it would be safe to say that we're pretty talented and a majority of SEC teams would like to have a few of our players.

Our coaching staff does not care about stars when they recruit. They look for players who fit a certain mold, for their style of play. Some of the best defense linemen currently in the NFL played at Mizzou, the coaches do a good job there.

Yeah... I imagine that "Mizzou's" D is better than Bama too, right?

You missed something when you said Mizzou's D was better than the Cocks' D.... USCe has held only two O's to under 300 yds this season and yours, err...., Mizzou's was one of them. USCe's avg allowed yardage against all other SEC teams is almost twice what Mizzou had.

The simple fact is that Mizzou has faced a MUCH easier schedule than UT. To say their D is "better" is invalidated by the fact that they have NOT faced the likes of Bama, OU, or even Ole Miss. They've played one quality O... without its best player... and it flat ran over them in a blow out.

Mizzou Fan here. 1st off, to the OPs picture...that is Tiger Board. That board is awful...and I mean awful. Powermizzou.com (through rivals) is the board that a lot of common sense Mizzou fans use. I have used it for years. I don't know what the free board looks like, but the subscription side is pretty neat.

I am really looking forward to the game this Saturday night. When we left the little 12 a few years ago, one of the main things that excited a lot of us fans were the new road games that Mizzou will go to. Trust me....Ames, Iowa...anywhere in kansas...Waco, texas...and etc were horrible and boring road games.
I have been lucky that every road game that I have gone to since Mizzou joining the conference (ole miss..south Carolina..Florida...Vandy...Georgia..texas A&M...and Kentucky) I had an absolute blast!! (plus Mizzou won all of them, which made it better)
I will be leaving Columbia, MO at about 5 am on Friday Morning and will be staying at the Holiday Inn off Henley St in Knoxville Friday & Saturday Night. Any suggestions (close by)for great food for Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning, and lunch Saturday would be great!!
Anything you guys recommend is a must do on Gamedays in Knoxville?
Looking forward to having my 1st SEC experience in Knoxville this Saturday Night.....I had to sit in rain the whole game last Saturday in College Station..so hoping for good weather!

Win or Lose...I know it is going to be a very good/physical game!....with that said, no matter what the results are I am soooo thankful that my Mizzou Tigers are in the SEC!!

Can someone please answer this poor man?!

Ye Olde Steak House and Calhouns are the most popular. You'll like Knoxville, our fans are usually regarded as the nicest in the SEC. Have fun, stay warm.

But it seems you're undefeated at the away games you've went to, so stay home if possible.

The first bolded means you are one of us now. We do far worse to each other. The second bolded means, welcome to the SEC. If you don't happen to be the current #1 SEC team, then you fall into a different catagory of standards and rules.

Welcome to the board.....oh, and "we gonna whip dey ass"

Money in Vegas is going towards Mizzou...right now a little over 70% of the bets are on them

To the untrained eye, it seems like safe money. 7-2 East leader is a 3 point underdog to a 5-5 team with an arrested Linebacker? Yeah.

Kind of like USC being favored by 2.5 vs Georgia was easy money.

To add (although I think you've figured it out:)), a lot of posters here have started to use blue font when they're being sarcastic, due to a lot of crossed wires, as well as the presence of a high number of humor-impaired posters.

Anyway, hope you have a good time down here (mostly, that is.) Try this board if you haven't already:
