Can you imagine Vols fans with those damn things? How loud would Neyland be then?

Honestly would be dangerous for your hearing. I imagine that even the 50K or so at Starkville ringing them is enough for long term tinnitus. I think that if the SEC wants to honor the tradition they should allow 100 or so fans to use them like they used to, but not the entire stadium.

You know they’d be banned if the schools with bigger stadiums used them

Oh absolutely...as the resident band nerd, I think it's easier to prepare for the volume of cowbells that have zero bass to their sound than it is 102k screaming and stomping lunatics. Their fans will be ready to go. That being said the tickets to this game are cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a lot of fans there.
5 of us will be there sporting the BIG ORANGE!

When we've got them at home in 2027 we need a stadium full of orange vuvuzelas, just to make a point. Those abominable things they had at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010. A volvolzela, if you will.

Tennessee football’s game at Mississippi State is tracking to be one of the best-attended games in the school’s history. On Tuesday, the school announced that the contest is officially a sell-out.

Nothing is ever officially sold out anymore. Still plenty of tix out there.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a game there(Eli was at Ole Miss, and it was the egg bowl of course). Back then the cow bells were banned. Didn’t stop anything though, there would be one guy out of the group that would stay behind and throw all the cow bells over to the large group. They never stop ringing them. I actually felt bad for Eli in that game because they were late hitting him on purpose over and over again, and they still won.

-If we win we can legitimately start talking about what it takes to get into the CFP. It would be a dramatic turnaround, similar to what Arizona State did a year ago.

This is my favorite one. Nothing like a little delusion, but you can't knock a fan for having blind optimism.
Have you ever met a Tennessee fan? Lol

Pretty good responses. We really can’t start slow . The last thing we need is to give them confidence as the game goes on and for us to feel game pressure late in the game. I’d love to see us start w/ a big play and then lean on the run game. We need to put their QB in a position where he’s the one pressing
Agree. This is the type game where TN needs to get up two scores and never play from behind.

If the game goes back and forth and down to the wire, then State will win.

Surely that won’t happen but it’s TN football.

Go Vols!

Kind of hope not...line in Vegas right now is UT by 7.5.
Subtract the 3 the he team gets and Vegas says this could be a close one.
Yeah the line keeps moving which means they don’t trust Tennessee in away games! That’s because our former QB who I won’t mention played like crap on the road! Joey is different he Will light them up tomorrow!

Not just him, but our head man is 7-9 on the road in SEC play as well...certainly not lighting it up, but then again probably doing better than other coaches in the league.

Kind of wish State was ranked. Record against ranked teams on the road jumps drastically higher I think.

Playing Georgia and Alabama on the road every other year doesn't help
