That 2000 game will be forever etched in my memory. We left the game early because we were getting liquor bottles thrown at us. Just so happened there was a taxi right outside the gate. I had him take us to the car, and we watched the overtime from the hotel. Up until that night, I thought The Swamp was the worst fanbase in the SEC.

We started the game in an LSU section, good view but unfortunate location. Had to move to standing room only Tennessee section in the end zone at halftime. Valiant comeback by the good guys but we fell just short.

I still think florida fans are worse.

It’s only a matter of time before Tennessee is the most hated fan base. Football, basketball, baseball, Lady Vols all trending upwards.
It doesn’t matter.. we had haters when we weren’t doing well, and we’ll have haters when we do 😂 We trigger people with our unwavering loyalty lol

Regarding the near loss to Florida, I just hope it cured Heupel of his Fulmeritis of playing not to lose rather than playing to win. On Texas highway US130/183 to I-10, Seguin, don't ease off the accelerator and drive at 35mph instead of its posted 85mph speed. Get it, Heup!?

Interesting reference, close to my current neck of the woods. And yes, you can haul ass out there just like the Tennessee offense.

I miss passing through Texas and enjoying such drives. I envy the fact you live out that way and can let your car strut its stuff. GO VOLS!!!!

Thanks for this, No Sir Eee!

I think this will be a tough game for us, but some of their fans are just delusional. Win by 24? They couldn't even put up 24 points against Florida State or Auburn. They can win, but if they do, it's going to be something like 38-34.

A few of them seem to be realistic. Our secondary is awful. We have shown a tendency to make mistakes at various points this season as well. Those are the things that give them the best chance. But no way they're winning 42-10 or something stupid like that.

These posts all have an aire of truth to them:

I agree; we haven't played anyone yet. Pitt is looking like a dud. And still difficult to know what to make of a win that nearly turned into a loss against a Florida team that beat Utah, got obliterated by Kentucky, and nearly lost to a bad USF team. But by the same token, difficult to know what to make of an LSU team that got beat by Florida State, beat Miss State, and scrapped by a bad Auburn team. That's part of the reason why it's such a critical game for both teams. There are reasons to be skeptical of both of these teams right now, but both have also shown flashes of being very good.
If Tenn hasn't played anyone yet, almost no one has played anyone yet and won. Pitt and Florida are still solid teams.

Face the facts here:

They’d give their extra corn dog to have Hooker at QB.

They know they’re facing an uphill battle.

They know their defense isn’t going to slow down the Tennessee offense.

I seriously doubt their offense can be consistent enough to keep up. If they fall off early it’ll be to much to overcome by halftime.
The only thing that can stop Tennessee is Tennessee.

I see us jumping out early then trying to hang on at the end, but not being as lucky as we we were against UF. My prediction is LSU 31-28
I see what your saying but coming off a bye i think Heupel is gonna have something cooking on the offensive side. You have to remember Heupel has never lost coming off the bye week as a head coach. I think it’s really close but I got Vols 35-31

Regardless of the loss I think Pitt would give LSU a good game.

Pitt honestly looks pretty mediocre. I think LSU would beat them.

The only real question is whether Pitt looks bad, because they took so many bad injuries in the game versus us, or would they be this bad regardless?

If I have a concern, it’s that Kelly will be in full circle the wagons, we’re being disrespected mode and throw the whole kitchen sink at us and knock us back. One game that is rarely mentioned (for good reason) as a huge letdown is 2007 Bama. 11am kickoff, we should’ve smoked them. They come out down a few guys, start with an onside kick and we never recover. I think we’re better, but LSU will be ready to play. We have to come out and make sure we match their intensity.

We might have unreal expectations at times, but LSU fans are full-blown delusional. Do they really think they have a win that impressed anybody? Auburn would be destroyed by Florida and they would both lose to Pitt. Saturday can’t get here soon enough for me!

I've been reading tigerdroppings.com since I'm going to the game, and it's crazy to me to see fans posting on there, be prepared to have stuff thrown at you. Kentucky and UGA have been my worst treatment, but nothing thrown at us.

Well that may be, but at least we don't smell like corn dogs.
