What other message boards are saying (Florida Edition)

Two parts of Florida will be the best TN has played all year; the RB’s and the OL. But that’s about it. The AR that showed up against LSU last year and Utah this year, seems to be a distant anomaly. And truth be known, something is up with his right ankle, physically. He hurt it against KY and aggravated it vs SFL. Take AR’s legs away and you take a huge part of his effectiveness. Injury seems to have already minimized him.

Florida’s defense played very well versus KY and very well for the 1st half vs Utah, but they were complete garbage vs USF and for the second half of Utah.

A question that we may need to ask, how do we think a Florida-Pitt matchup or a Tennessee-Utah matchup would fair? I know applying transitive property to games and matchups doesn’t usually work, but it’s interesting to consider here. I think those matchups would be close, competitive games. So then, why wouldn’t TN-FL be the same?

Ultimately, I think TN’s home field advantage and the fact that their offense is the best of the 4 units on the field, means they win this game. But I do think Florida may have enough pride, mixed with good athletes, to keep it relatively close. Florida is also very battle tested already; three games that were nail biters, I also recognize TN was battle tested at Pitt.

In the end, it’s just Tennessee’s year.
I say this wirh the upmost respect cause u usually are a decent poster..Unfortunately this week all we got for ya is.....

If this game goes the way that most see it going, Neyland and surrounding areas will be the scene of the most chaotic post game celebration in recent memory. there is more on the line than this one game, it is a potential turning of a very dark corner that has taken a very long time...
Think it will be as loud as it's been since Oklahoma came to town. If we get going early, look out for mayhem. FL game plan, for sure is to run the ball and take time off the clock...and take steam out of the crowd.

If Pitt has Slovis, Pitt beats UF...if not, would be fair match. Pitt D is under rated I think...they play tough. Think that being in the OT early, and winning is helpful for Vols. We've been known to make Heisman candidates out of struggling QBs over the years, but just don't think you can under value having an older mature QB who is functioning at a high level who rarely turns the ball over.

Neyland is ready to erupt. That stadium will be channeling a decade and a half of hate. I don't know that there will be a more hostile environment in college football this year. Realistically, I think it is going to get ugly.
What would make the week complete would be a CB saying “ducks don’t pull trucks.”

Can Ducks Pull Trucks?

Thanks for not being as homerish as you often are. Pretty good analysis.

I am still not completely confident in UT's DC but pure talent wise... UT will be as good on D as anyone UF has faced. The OL/DL match up when UF is on O will be important. UT went pretty vanilla vs the two MAC teams but turned things up vs Pitt.

IMHO, we will know a lot about the game by the end of the 1st qtr. Can UT protect the passer? Can UF cover UT's receivers? Can UT be exotic enough with run schemes and blitzes while preventing AR from having that "breakout" game you all keep hoping for?

I don't think there's much doubt that UT's receivers will be several levels above what UF has seen so far. I would expect UF's pass rush to be at least on par with Pitt. UT needs to score early and get some early stops. That gives the Vols confidence and maybe leaves UF with doubts.

PS- another early sign for UT will be whether Hooker is accurate or not. He's started each game this year throwing high before settling in. If he can start right then that really helps UT.

This one might be the most delusional:

-Quit doubting. Utah is leaps and bounds better than Tennessee.
Haha I chuckled at this one too. I think are only 5-6 that are truly “leaps and bounds” better than us this season and I don’t think it’s any of the 3 teams UF have played so far. Sadly we play 2 of the teams that are, in our regular season.

Game Day tee Shirts on Cumberland should have

Version 1 "Channeling a Decade and a Half of Hate" on back and a Checker Neyland logo/pic on front with a big Go Vols!

Version 2 " Hillbilly Jacked up on Moonshine" (cartoon man with a still on Rocky top design) on the back with Checker Neyland Logo/pic on front with a big Go Vols! on the front.

Rock painters need these two for designs too. If someone knows them..please pass these 2 gems along

I hated Florida long before 15 years ago, and I suspect many are with me!

I'm guessing the Roman Colleseum in its heyday will not have seen the palpable bloodlust that will be coming from the stands in Neyland. The kind where 90 year old grannies are ready to rush the field and beat AR to death with their purse (and pretty sure they could do it). Bitter hatred and gut wrenching disappointment over a decade and a half with realistic hope as oxygen...yes, it will be bad. LOL

For a team that people said their fans don't care about playing us, they don't seem to like us very much. We can't lose this game to expansion.
