I threw the link in here so you could read the lengthy post they had for the numbers.

Possible, but very doubtful
Sounds like they may score 50 against us.
1) Last time they played each other was the Peach Bowl (attended) in 1987. Indiana coached by Bill Mallory was beaten by the Vols 27-22 & Johnny Majors.

2)Tennessee is 1.5 points favorites in the Gator Bowl(Vegas) Meanwhile, Bill Connelly(ESPN) has Indiana as 4 point favorites.

3) Indiana is looking for 9 wins for the first time since 1967 when Gonso, Isenbarger, & Butcher, along with a underrated defense led the Hoosiers to the Rose Bowl. Indiana will be gunning for the first bowl victory since 1991 at the Copper Bowl

4) Indiana has 26 players on the team from Fla. & adding in the surrounding states, 34. According to AD Glass, 23000 IU alumni live within 300 miles of Jacksonville
Check the game date in the article below:

https://www.knoxnews.com/story/spor...0-tickets-how-much-cost-right-now/2632568001/

I've read the jokes about "those fellers" but if that article is any indication the joke writers just might be right...

Looks like the big question is:
Will the city of Jacksonville be ready for a large contingent of orange clad TN fans showing on January 3rd (the day the article says the game is being played on)..., OR...,will the local gendarmes think there's just been a massive prison break..., panic..., and call in the State Police?!??
A UT fan started a prediction thread and instead of predictions, caught some flack
Sorry man we have a tradition for prediction threads. Not anyone can just start one and certainly not an opposing fan. Nice prediction though. Very humble. Lol.
No thank you! I will post my prediction closer to the game and not in a post with an arrogant title like you started.

I predict you are a douchebag.
Are you old enough to remember our last 3 bowl games in 2014, 2015, and 2016? We beat Iowa 45-28, Northwestern 45-6, and Nebraska 38-24. Outside of Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State, there isn't a Big 10 team that can handle our speed on offense. Jennings, Calloway, and our RB's will have big games. Our defense has arrived
Am I "old enough" to remember what happened 4-6 years ago? This comment is a demonstration of why you get so much **** for lacking any semblance of intelligence. Yes, I remember it, it wasn't 25 years ago.

Those three games also have absolutely nothing to do with the game against Indiana. How much of our roster consists of players that were on those teams? Do we still have Josh Dobbs? Is their roster the exact same as Iowa, NW, and Nebraska? Completely irrelevant, as usual OP.
If you hate Kentucky then you are really going to hate Tennessee football fans. That ugly orange and white checkerboard. The band playing Rocky Top over and over and over again.
To their defense Jeremy Pruitt a former high school did an excellent job turning things around early after losing to Georgia State and BYU and getting blown out by the Gators. It really looked as if he had lost the team.
Anyway there is no team I love to beat more than the Volunteers.
Totally agree
I mean, I’m sure they have their quirks but Rocky Top is objectively awesome.
I've always kind of liked UT. Just as a fan of college football, I have been to a couple of games at Neyland Stadium and it's a great atmosphere. I went while Peyton was there, so that was a plus too.

I will, of course, be cheering for the Hoosiers like a maniac in JAX but, UT is one of the few SEC schools that doesn't make me nauseous at the mere sound of their name. (And I kinda like Rocky Top)
IU has turned into the clean-up hitter of the Big 10. Muscle up and hit it out of the park Thursday at the Gator Bowl.
Their OC pulling double duty
Per Tom Brew of SI Indiana Kalen DeBoer will Coach Indiana at the Gator Bowl. It's only fitting that he will call the plays as I doubt we get there without him.
-I hope this works out. However not been great. Guys have not had complete concentration on old team. He is really going to have to lean on others on the staff to do a lot of the prep. He cannot help but spend time preparing for his new team.
In response to the Gator Bowl being ranked #26 most entertaining bowl game by ESPN….FWIW, the Peach Bowl was ranked 2nd
The Gator Bowl certainly will be exciting for IU fans. For our fan base,it will be a great day.
As has already been pointed out, if you're truly a college football fan (which evidently this ESPN clown isn't), the INDIANA versus tn game is what you'll be watching on on January 2nd...

Personally, I'm looking forward to it. Seems evenly matched... Should be a great game.
Two big state schools from SEC vs. B10, only night game nationally that night. What's not to like? Who cares what reporters predict, proof will be in the game itself and the ratings. I believe both schools have a loyal following that will be watching, game will be a sellout and it will surprise the "expert pundits."
Screw em...

How many Bowls (aside from the Championship) are nearly sold out right now?

I'm guessing it's a low number...
Comparing UT fans to Purdue fans
I have not seen TN play nor do I follow them. 7-5 does not sound great but it is the SEC.
I want to win, obviously, but also want to increase recruiting presence for the future.
They could almost be the same guys. What a bunch of idiots!
I will respectfully disagree that UT orange is the ugliest color…..I love it lmao
Never have had a trouble with a UT football fan. Wish we could harvest and grow some of their loyalty. Tennessee Orange, however, is the ugliest orange I have ever seen, and "Rocky Top" is not a fight song.

Completely unrelated, but I hate OU. Half my family are OU fans. So just a little lighthearted ribbing at their expense.
Can we stop including OU in the playoff please?

I feel good about our chances in this football game but not so much if both of the programs were facing each other on the BBALL court. GBO!!

They may shock me... and this is not intended as disrespect for IU or their program... but UT should beat them comfortably. The match ups are UT's now pretty decent D against their pretty decent O and UT's reasonably good O against their pretty porous D. I'm counting on the Mizzou Guarantano and not the Vandy Gurantano... but I think IU is in for a long day.

If our o line is creating running lanes similar to the Vandy Game, then it is game over man for IU. If run blocking is sub-par with the offense resting on JG’s shoulders, I would expect a closer game.

I mean no disrespect to them either, but I agree. They averaged 5 points per game more on average than us while playing an average opponent defensive rank 24 spots lower than us. They also only beat one top 25 defense this year in a deflated Northwestern team who came into the game 1-6. We beat 3 top 25 defenses in UK, Mizzou, and UAB. All of these stats come from the NCAA website. Also it does not include either one of our FCS opponents as they were not ranked.

Average PPG:
IU - 27.7
UT - 22.4

Average opponent defensive rank:
IU - 68.2
UT - 44.2

Tough ball game. They beat who they were suppose to and hung in there with the ones they were suppose to lose to.

For the love Pete don’t sleep on IU
They didn't beat anyone who didn't have a losing record. They lost to 6-6 MSU along with the 3 teams on their schedule with a winning record. In a scheduling fluke, IU dodged all three of the good teams the Big 10 West and played all four of the bad teams. The three top teams combined for a 30-8 record with Minnesota still to play their bowl. The bottom 4 combined for an 18-30 record. The two teams they beat from their own division combined for a 5-19 record.

The competition they beat to get this bowl opportunity is like the competition Butch Jones beat to get the UT job.

"Anyway there is no team I love to beat more than the Volunteers."

How would an IU fan actually know that he loves beating UT?

Just goes to show they have knuckleheads to match our knuckleheads. Say anything to build up some pre-game hate, even if it doesn't make any sense once you think about it.

For instance, the Vol fan who said they have an ugly campus...when in reality it's a beautiful campus.

Just folks trying to get themselves and those around them riled up, I guess.

I like Indiana. Good people, quality school. We're gonna stomp them into the turf. Go Vols!

There’s no reason for Tennessee to walk in there arrogant. None what so ever. If they do that we’re looking at wk 1 and 2 all over again.

I'm not the one rolling up in here with the thread's very first dumbass post.
If it's according to you.....then I don't worry much about it. I made a civilized post. Your post is.....well.....you might want to read it again.

I don't think Orange is a great color by any means, but to say it's ugly and the worst orange is wrong.

A lot depends on which JG shows up.
I figure we'll start out conservative to make sure no early turn overs...and see which JG we've got for the game. Could see this game going the way of SC, where we play good D, no turn overs, shorten the game, and open up for big gash plays later in the first half and second half. I think we'll win by 10, but wouldn't surprise me if we get down early a bit.
