I hate Florida. I mean, like, I really hate Florida. It's not just the school, I hate the entire state. Beaches are overrated, the weather is too hot, the schools are full of players and fans that just love to flap their jaws. If there was a way we could separate the state from the rest of the country but leave Disney/Universal behind, I would be all for it.
Just like when I'm forced to go to the state of Florida, I feel dirty after spending too much time on their boards. The chatter is about Appleby for the most part, and for good reason. I would say 50% Appleby, 40% disrespect against Tennessee and how easy of a win this will be, 10% poor spelling and grammar. Usually when you surf other boards there is always that good percentage of posters that have plenty of respect for us during game week. Not with these guys. We haven't played anyone, our offense is terrible, they will win easily, etc. They don't think it will be a blowout necessarily, they just don't think we'll move the ball or score.
Without further ado, here's what the Gator faithful are saying about Saturday's matchup in Neyland:
______________________________________________
-Let's go ahead and get the excessive confidence out of the way:
-They posted a highlight video of Purdue that showed some Appleby plays. It's worth mentioning he threw a 51 yard bomb to the end zone in one of them. He's got an arm.
-Uh oh.... looks like we can't run a trick play anymore because North Texas... who was 1-11 last year... tried to and failed:
Good job BCOX, way to be on top of that deceptive North Texas trickery...
-They really don't like Appleby:
-They constantly refer to our offense as "one-dimensional"
-The posters that don't think of this as an automatic win believe this game comes down to who turns the ball over less
-Every year I see a handful of posters pulling this "Tennessee isn't our rival" card:
-The irony (after UMass gave them all they wanted):
-This was actually pretty interesting:
-Their "5 Reasons why they win":
(Glad to hear they'll score as much on us as the FCS teams have)
-They have O-line concerns just like us, but they are more along the lines of run blocking than pass protection.
-On Sutton:
-They are holding out a similar hope as us:
-General score predictions have them winning by 10-14 points. Rarely did I see a prediction where we score more than 10 or so.
-They all felt pretty disrespected by the opening line.
-In a "Tennessee keys to beating the Gators" thread the consensus view is that our game plan will be to bring the house on Appleby. I hope they're right.

They've earned the right at this point to disrespect us the way they do. Let's blow their eardrums Saturday and send them and their SEC East hopes back down to the septic tank that is Gainesville where they belong.
GBO.

Will we be in the top 10 after we beat UT by 3 TDs?
Tennessee is going to lose to Florida with a back up quarterback at Neyland 😂😂😂
UF 27 UT 6

-Uh oh.... looks like we can't run a trick play anymore because North Texas... who was 1-11 last year... tried to and failed:
They lose and they don't score more than 10 points. This defense is soooooo good. Remember that reverse throw back play that Dobbs scored on last year. NT tried to run the same kind of play and BCOX saw it coming and covered the qb all the way. That's film study, knowing what his job is, and executing. And that's just one reason two more is 40 and 34. Big day on Rocky Top for the Gators!
Good job BCOX, way to be on top of that deceptive North Texas trickery...
-They really don't like Appleby:
He just seems TO prone.
Not sure I can stomach Appleby. He just is the opposite of impressive to me. Would rather get blown out because we rolled the dice with Trask and he implodes
I cannot see this team rallying around Appleby. He is just terrible. He is the anti-Treon throwing balls to covered receivers like his goal is to actually complete passes to the DBs. He would have been picked tonight if Hammond did not simply wrestle the ball from the DB
-They constantly refer to our offense as "one-dimensional"
-The posters that don't think of this as an automatic win believe this game comes down to who turns the ball over less
-Every year I see a handful of posters pulling this "Tennessee isn't our rival" card:
Not sure how old some of you guys are, but in all honesty, Tennessee has never been anything more than just another conference game. Maybe there is the feel of rivalry on their side, but no Gator ever even thought about Tennessee when rivals were mentioned. Historically Georgia, LSU, Auburn and more recently FSU are rivals. Tennessee is just like Kentucky or Vanderbilt, just a conference game we have to play
-The irony (after UMass gave them all they wanted):
I am confused as to how FSU only dropped to 13 in the AP poll ... they got destroyed
I also thought Ole Miss would have dropped out being a two loss team
And Tenn still moving up barely beating bad schools.
I get this is early rankings just doesn't make sense.
-This was actually pretty interesting:
think part of the reason Mac was so angry during the game was that UNT's Joshua Wheeler had done the same thing to SMU's QB two weeks ago. This was the same player that hit Del Rio. In an almost identical tackle, the SMU QB was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
-Their "5 Reasons why they win":
1. Jim McElwain- he almost beat LSU with Treon Harris. He took Bama into the fourth quarter with Treon Harris. He will have a brilliant game plan especially designed for Appleby and we will score on them at least as much as the FCS teams have.
2. Our Defense- is going to wreck havoc on their oline. We have the LB's this year that we didn't have last year. We are playing extremely fundamental. When this season is over, I believe this defense will go down as one of the greatest at UF. Tabor and Wilson will shut down Malone bc those jump balls Dobbs throws to him will not work against them, bc they will be intercepted. Hurd will get a couple of good runs, but not enough to matter. Kamara is not going to outrun our defense. We will be ready for their trick plays this year.
3. Their Oline- is the worst in the SEC and they haven't played a team with a good defense yet... We may set a tackle for loss record against them.
4. Dobbs- he is looking worse and worse throwing the ball. Anzalone or Davis will spy him the entire game. He will get a few nice runs. But he cannot beat our defense by himself.
5. Special teams- we have a FG kicker this year. Our punter will keep us with good field position and make them drive the entire field to beat us.
(Glad to hear they'll score as much on us as the FCS teams have)
-They have O-line concerns just like us, but they are more along the lines of run blocking than pass protection.
-On Sutton:
In my opinion, he isn't just their best corner, he's their best player. Sucks for the players and the fans that both teams won't be at full strength
Punt returner, too.
Other CB are avg. Hope we can still take advantage of that with Appleby.
-They are holding out a similar hope as us:
IMO, I believe Mac and Nuss have been holding back waiting on this game. I believe we see some wishbone or something similar where we get multiple backs in the backfield at the same time. At least I hope we do
-General score predictions have them winning by 10-14 points. Rarely did I see a prediction where we score more than 10 or so.
-They all felt pretty disrespected by the opening line.
-In a "Tennessee keys to beating the Gators" thread the consensus view is that our game plan will be to bring the house on Appleby. I hope they're right.
