Get rid of the ads and let's get us an HD screen for all the geezers they want to calmly watch the game on the screen and not make a peep. Seriously it would be nice though

i believe its called godzillatron right?

Yea, thats the nickname for it in Austin.

I was at a game down there last year, and let me tell you, that screen is INCREDIBLE. I was sitting on the opposite end of the stadium and it was like being 10 ft. away from a 60" HDTV.

This needs to be in the plans for Neyland in the next 3-5 years...Arkansas has an impressive new screen as well, and Miss. State's looks like it will be nice. UT needs to be ahead of the curve on stuff like this.

I say we install arches across the middle of the stadium to support a jumbotron in the middle

No, No. Hammy wants to make sure he can steal it from our other national powers first. Get some feedback.

Were we not when our screen was put it place? I doubt we can put in a new one every couple years just to say we did. I think the current stadium upgrades are much more important.

I think i remember reading that it wasn't in the renovations because of money. I think there are alot more important issues at neyland than this now. I surely would not be opposed to a godzillatron though :)

We are losing seats are we not?

We are, once the West Club Seats are finished heading into next season Neyland will seat just over 100,000. It is also very possible to add in a new HD videoboard...the weight of the panels for the video board could probably be supported by the existing structure (they're not much heavier than the older one currently in place) and the cost for the one at State and Ole Miss (they're adding one after hearing the word about the one in Starkville) is around $6 million. The South End renovation is on old anyways until the academic classes can be moved from the Stadium. There is time to re-design portions of that renovation to include a new video board within the reconstruction.

What Neyland really needs is a scoreboard that gives us more points than Florida. I would be a happy camper if we could find one of those!

Am I the only one that finds it hilarious that Ole Miss and Mississippi State are the teams putting these in? Who wants to see mediocrity in glorious HD?

"Oh man, this is great! I can see the right guard fall over himself, the quarterback hit his fullback in the helmet with the ball, the center roll into the fetal position, and the wide receiver pass out in great detail!"

If I had 24 hours left to live, I'd watch the Egg Bowl from the last four years....it would seem like an eternity.

If you were continuously watching the last 4 Egg Bowls, you wouldn't even last 24 hours to die from the original condition.

Are restrooms that are larger than your average walk in closet. (And lose the troffs)

A larger replay screen would only mean more room for adverts. Look at the LED ribbon board they put in last year. Half of it is dedicated to continuous commercials during the game.

Here's my Neyland-bathroom theory: Make sure you take care of your business before you enter the stadium. :eek:k:
