If the NCAA hands us some severe sanctions over this Arian Foster/Bray/Couch ordeal, how do you you think it will affect our recruiting? Or even if we dont get in any trouble will parents look down upon the program? Will recruits shy away from here in fear that they may be tempted to break the rules thus hindering their college careers?

You gotta take one offense at a time. Foster is outside the statute of limitations, so nothing happens there. Bray and Couch could be more interesting. At worst, we get all of 2012 and the first 2 games this year vacated. Of course, that also means Bama gets vacated too if that happens so I believe we're protected by the cash cow.

Bottom line, not much on the past and I highly doubt there's any recruiting restrictions. Translation: no impact.

Nothing will happen to UT as long as no one inside UT (coaches, administrators, etc.) knew of this. I doubt there will be any sanctions because of Couch an Bray. No forfeits or vacated games, either.

I'm more worried about what happens when the ncaa finds out our former coach was getting a little extra glaze on his donuts from Krispy Kreme.

The NCAA will not do anything to us. (1) The University did not have any knowledge of these players getting money, so they are not in any way at fault.

(2) Everyone is sick of the NCAA right now, so they need to tread lightly. I doudt that they do anything at all...

I believe a lot of former players from many different schools could follow suit. As long as the players aren't driving around in $50000 cars then I don't see a problem in it. Hope it blows over sooner rather than later.

After the Manziel debacle, I don't see much coming from this. The NCAA dont want the SEC to come after them about what took place.

As long as nothing fishy was going on with the coaches or administration I don't see nothing coming of this. We just need to keep our fingers crossed. Weve had enough bad news around this program for the last few yrs. Lets just hope the bad is behind us. GO VOLS

Nothing is going to happen because the NCAA mishandled the Johnny Manziel case.

It still does not make what Taco Foster did, right.

I know that most of you think that nothing comes of this but the Alabama situation is very serious and much like the Reggie Bush incident at USC. Since USC took a major hit on Bush I think that the PAC12 and their partner, the BIG, will push for action against SEC teams. These other conferences have always suspected rampant cheating in the SEC and will not let this opportunity pass. In their view this would be the perfect opportunity to right the college athletic ship and return it to a credible state for real academic/athletic institutions. Those conferences would love nothing better than to see the SEC void 2 of those 7 National Championships.

The burr here is if they go after Bama it will affect Mississippi State and UT. Bama is notorious for displacing blame to other institutions in the conference. (See Auburn, 1957)

Another problem here is that it is not a "he said, she said" situation. The articles clearly document the evidence for the NCAA. Makes it a quick and easy for them. They will not have to go and investigate who contributed to a church building fund. The NCAA also has the advantage that this evidence was presented by a third party thus alleviating them from any kind of bias, unlike the Miami situation.

The only issue comes if they can establish a pattern, then they can go back beyond the statute of limitations... We've had 3 people proved to be taking money, and if they are, more are. We DO NOT want the NCAA digging into this...
