What does UT baseball need to do to put a reasonable team on the field?
Yes, we know about the player draft, recruiting good players who then go pro for the big $, ....
And we know about injuries, academics, and stuff.
But if Vandy can have a top program, why can't we?
Does it mean a new coach? Maybe.
But whatever it is, LET'S DO IT SOON!:lolabove:

I think the only way to get a consistent program going is to replace the coach and get a fresh start. Delmonico has been there for 18 years now, and consistency hasn't been anything the Vols have had. You are right, if Vandy can have the #1 team in the nation, there is no reason UT can't compete like that and be a national contender.

Been there, done that.

There is a respect issue with players at the collegiate level not playing for a players coach. Tim Corbin at Vandy is a remarkable mind and person first of all- he then turns that into his players and the product on the field is reflected. You can be an old school coach, and a competitive coach but remember it is a game, and you are there to build kids as well as players. Ask Coach K at Duke.

We have had plenty of reasonable teams. The teams aren't the problem. It's the coach.

to me it's achievieng these goals:

1. SEC bb tournament
2. NCAA bb tournament
3. Competitive for division championship
4. Beat the "no chance" teams every time
