I grew up out West (Cali, Hawaii) but my dad (a USC grad) always had orange around the house and my relatives in Crossville used to come visit and always made sure I had new UT gear to sport around the islands in. My family made sure I wasn't going to be influenced while out West. V,B!

When I was a wee lad my folks took me to the doctor and they needed a blood sample. Doc pricked my finger and the blood came out orange. Who knew?

My grandparents and parents were all Vol fans, so I was indoctrinated at young age.

My grandfather (who was born in Knoxville in the early 1920s) would buy the official Vols guide every year, and on each game day, he would fill up that particular game's page with comments. The pages for games that were losses were filled with cusswords, which I found amusing.

My grandmother would take her phone off the hook every Saturday because she didn't want to be bothered by "old women who don't like football." She thought Johnny Majors was handsome, and was devastated when he got fired.

My father would sit on our porch on game nights, and listen to the game on the radio while smoking a cigarette and watching a bug zapper.

It was something I was born into, by the grace of God. The moment that sealed it was listening to the '82 bama game. The Vols won to break an eleven yr losing streak to the tahd. I still remember how excited my parents and uncles were. I wanted to be a part of it.

Okay so I'm pretty new. I'd been a fan since only 2006. I wasn't really into football but when I did watch it I was usually rooting for Michigan of all people. But I went with my uncle to watch the Cal game and VOL fan ever since and vol fan for life.

I was born and raised here right outside of Birmingham. As a kid I remember my dad screaming and yelling at the tv down stairs about something called the "vols". One night when I was 7 he invited me down to watch a game with him. It took one play for me to be jumping around screaming "touchdown!" and get hooked. That game was the 1995 Alabama game. That was the beginning of the streak, it was nice going to school with all these Bammers. 10-2 vs Bama when I was in school.....maybe I should go back.

My dad's always been a fan so I guess it rubbed off on me growing up. But the moment where I knew I never needed to watch another team play was after the 2005 LSU game. So much emotion went into that game on my part.

I am from TN, grew up outside of New Orleans, but finished high school in TN. I really wanted to go to the Citadel until the whole Shannon Faulkner ordeal, so I started looking at schools for Architecture. My first choice was NCSU actually but after bieng accepted and visiting the school I found that it had an awful campus, so I "settled" for UT (probably the best choice of my life). Anyway, I will never forget sitting in my dorm room studying on a Saturday night in 1997. I decided to turn on the radio and listen to the football game (I believe it was UT at UCLA?) with Manning at the helm. By half time, I was with the rest of the crazies on campus (Hess Hall) leaning out the windows singing Rocky Top. I never missed a home game in my 5 years on campus. I went from not caring about fooseball to a lifetime fan in less than 30 minutes. Thank you Manning, Ward and Fulmer!

Following the 1969 SEC championship season, plus seeing the 1967 season ending Orange Bowl with Oklahoma on TV as a young kid. I was hooked.
