What Kind of Vols Fan Are You?

I've been told I am not a real or true fan. I am also told I am a negavol.

I can't figure out why all these/us "not real" fans or NegaVols hang around everything Vols through the good and bad. No matter how much complaining they/we do, come September, we are there cheering on the team.

Hmm?

Been a Vol fan since the day I was born at UT Medical in Knoxville. There has never been nor will there even be any other team for me than the Tennessee Volunteers. Vol til I die! And I want Rocky Top played at my funeral (that's not morbid is it?)

"Precious Memories" seems more appropriate but whatever.

but lets be honest op is right we are all some fan..

I am 1,2 and 3...

love my vols... love all players.... love the stars.. cuss in games when anyone messes up or coach makes bonehead decision(IMO) but support no matter what and love to talk chit to other fans and hate all other schools.

Checked your stats, they point toward "Major Negavol"!

JM and pretty much everyone's Opinion! :devilsmoke:

The Grizzlies and the Broncos say otherwise! :)

Negavol over here

Me too. Some people also refer to us as realistic Vol fans.

Only the negative refer to the negative as realistic. Negative folk are no more realistic than Pollyannas – realistic would be somewhere in between.

Gotta say though, I like my realistic view spiced up with a splash of optimism. Just more fun.

Vol till I fall, baby!

Been a UT fan all my life. Born in Knoxville, grew up in ET, graduated from UT.

I'm a fan of the team more so than individual players. I really don't follow recruiting that much because you can't tell the true quality of a class until 2-3 years after signing day. So much can change. With that said, I do enjoy seeing a player like Hurd live up to they hype and hope McKenzie can do the same. I won't label him a bust if he has a learning curve going from HS to the SEC. It's just different.

As I get older, I don't get as wound up over a loss as I did when I was younger. I enjoy gamedays and planning my Sats. around the game. I get a little sad on bye weeks.

I try to judge the performance of the team objectively by seeing how they measure up against the other teams in the SEC. Are they getting better or worse?

I don't think ESPN, Yahoo Sports, CBS, or The Vatican hate UT. The praise and attention will come with winning.

Go Vols...we're on our way back!

I'm a negavol. I think the team will get 8 or 9 wins this year. Is that not realistic?

A sincere thank you for your service to this country, and I love my country, but not as much as I love my family. Am I wrong?

You can love both with infinite love, but the real question is which you sacrifice the most for.

And there's no right answer, no wrong answer, it's entirely a personal choice. Lotta American soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coasties and their families out there sacrificing family life to keep our country safe. Military brats who grow up not seeing their dads or moms nearly as often as a child should, so that the parent can stand watch in some godforsaken corner of the world. That's going on every day.

But that life is not right for every person, or for every family. Each situation is unique. You gotta decide the order of priorities your own way.

But love for both can be boundless.

Heh, no, not morbid at all. My Dad wants the same. He also wants an orange casket and an orange tie around his neck. I think he wants an 8" x 11" photo of Smokey in the casket with him, but not sure...he seems to be going back and forth on that one. Mind, he's a lot closer to us putting his wishes into action than you are with yours. Old fella is a lovable nut. :)

All you Big Orange Entrepreneurs, here's a business opportunity: orange casket that plays Rocky Top when opened. Checkerboard detail, Power T on the coverlet and a nice photo of Smokey on top.

Let's see a gofundme page by Happy Hour. :)
