I'm behind this kid 100% but what kind of coach is he? Anyone know? Is he a great motivator/fiery guy,I think thats what we'll need to beat Florida and Bama. I know he's offensive minded and thats great,I expect more vertically from his offenses. What I've seen from him so far is he seems very classy yet softspoken and almost shy. Thougts?

33yrs old can be considered a kid in a head coaching position in the NCAA ranks...well who's younger out there? Thats what I thought.:eek:k:

chill chill chill.

Apparently he's smart when it comes to the game and a smart ass when it comes to people messing with him. I also heard that he's quick to get in a player's face when they're playing like morons.

One thats won about 5 games as a HBC

Ok, it is time to get away from the whole 5-15 thing. Lets take a good look at his situation in Oakland. 2/3rds of his staff was not of his choosing. Forced on him from above. Rob Ryan fought him every step of the way on everything he tried to do. It was a very disjointed effort out there. All in all he did a good job in Oakland. His players loved him and played their guts out for him. He is exactly what we need here and if everybody supports both him and the team, he will do great things here.
So, to also answer Heath Shuler's question, yes, he is most definitely a player's coach. Give the man all your support for 3 yrs and then make your determination. I really believe you will be both surprised and happy with where the program is heading.

Doesn't that sound like a coach that we all know and love?

Carroll---failure in the nfl, very good college coach

Saban---failure in the nfl, very good college coach

Spurrier---failure in the nfl, very good college coach

Kiffin: he was a bust in the NFL, but he will still be able to light it up at UT!!!

there have been many coaches that couldn't make it in the NFL, that were great in college, would have been nice to see what he could have done with a REAL NFL team, as we all know Al has the Raiders all screwed up!!! Welcome to Tennessee CLK!!!!

Coach K is a coach who is fiery, not intimitated, runs a pro-style offense, great recruiter, motivator, strong connections in college and the nfl. Seems to me he has alot of the tangibles outside of a record that people were so high on in Davis, Gruden and Kelly. Will those same attributes result into greatness? time will tell but I for one like his chances. He has more pressure on his self to succeed here and redeem his HC credentials then the pressure being placed on him by the naysayers.
