What is YOUR record with the Vols?

I've been going to games for 10 years, but I was in school there for 4.5 years (5 football seasons) from 2007-2011 and been going to games since.

So 2007 helped because we were undefeated at home, but beyond that it hasn't been great.

My first game was 2006 Florida - Tebow's freshman year, 21-20 loss on an awful pass interference.

Love this thread. Let me think. (It helps to look at a seating chart to see where you were sitting for each game if you don't have the same seats each time.)

2002 vs Wyoming @ Adelphia Coliseum W
2003 vs Duke W
2005 vs UAB W
2006 vs Air Force W
2006 vs Marshall W
2007 vs South Carolina W
2007 vs Arkansas W
2007 vs LSU @ SEC Championship L
2009 vs W Kentucky W
2010 vs Oregon L

<Moved to Indiana>

2011 vs Montana W
2015 vs Western Carolina W

So, that makes me 10-2 at UT games, but it certainly could have been worse:
2006 Air Force - We could have lost if we didn't stop their 2-pt conversion.
2007 S Carolina - We lose if we don't false start on our missed FG at end of reg.

That Air Force game got ugly! Thanks to a ballsy AF coach and Xavier Mitchell, we walked out with a W. Also, that was Inky's last game. Didn't expect that at the time.

I only attended 3 games from 1989 to 1996 (Ole Miss--got to see Chuck Webb set the single game rushing record; Kentucky, and Vanderbilt).

We got season tickets in 1997. I was undefeated watching the Vols in person until 2000 (Jabar Gaffney "catch" broke my streak).

Went to EVERY home game from 1997 to 2000 without a loss.

Of course, the past few years have been a little different...I've been to every home game except 5 since 1997, so I'd have to go back and count up my record.

Outside of Neyland, my record is 3-5
1998 SECCG vs. Miss State- W
2001 SECCG vs. LSU- L
2003 vs UK in Lexington- W
2004 vs SC in Columbia- W
2004 SECCG vs. Auburn- L (Phantom holding calls on long TD runs)
2007 SECCG vs. LSU- L
2010 Music City Bowl vs NC- L (unbelievable)
2015 vs FLA in Gainesville- L

Yes it was, ugh I remember watching it happen live (actually had my eyes on him).

I couldn't remember if it was 06 Air Force, or 07 SoCar, because I had roughly the same seats for both.

Side note: If you haven't read Inky's book, do yourself a favor and order it now! :good!:

I won't list every game but I went to almost every home game during my 4.5 years at UT (2006-2010), and have been to at least 2 each following year.

I've only been to 3 away games:
at Kentucky, sometime in the 90's: Win
at Vandy 2006: Win
at Vandy 2012: Loss (worst game I've ever been to)

5-4-2

Unbelievably, my the first two VOLS games I attended both ended in ties.

1985 vs UCLA: 26-26. We led 26-10 in the 4th and then gave up two TD's and both 2 pt conversions.

1985 vs GT: 6-6. First game after Tony Robinson had his season ended the week before at Alabama. VOLS couldn't do anything on offense, trailed 6-3. Got the ball back in the final minute and made a 50+ yard FG in the final seconds to force the tie.

Even more unreal, despite losing Robinson for the season and both tie games, TN went 9-1-2 and then blew out #2 Miami in the Sugar Bowl.

If you were at UT in 2008, Wyoming has to be up there for one of the worst games you have ever been to as well.

I was drunk at most of the early ones I attended and I had orange colored glasses on in more recent times, so in short... THE VOLS WON EM ALL BABY!!! (I think?)

ND in 99 was my first game ever..win
Jump forward to Auburn 2013 Loss
Mizzou 2014 Loss
Vandy 2014 Win
Georgia 2015 Win

Hoping to continue the win streak this season. Attending Florida and A&M game

Mine is abysmal. I don't get back every year, but I don't think I've seen a win live since 98. Probably something like 8-10 straight losses. My Vol brethren beg me to stay away.

That must mean you go to big games. I'd sometimes rather have gone to some big games and seen close games with losses, then watch us beat up on a cupcake almost every time. Big games are too $$$$$$$$$ for me tho.

UT @ Vandy 2008 W
UT vs UNC 2010 L (cheated)
UT vs FL 2012 L
UT vs MTSU 2012 W
UT vs South Alabama 2013 W
UT @ South Carolina 2014 W

4-2 (2-1)

I'm 23 and my family has held season tickets since the day of my birth. Only missed a very, very small handful of games. I would have to go back and compile their home record over the past 23 seasons for me to figure it out. If I had to guess, I would say it's probably around 0.500, just kind of assuming the law of averages.

Seen plenty in Neyland I can't remember.

0-4 on the road
2013 UF
2011 UF
2012 UGA
2015 Ole Miss

3-0 in Bowls/Neutrals
2016 Outback
2015 Taxslayer
2012 Opener against NC State

As a note, I'll be at Bristol, so it's a guaranteed win.

Thanks OP for motivating me to find out what my personal record is. I'm one of those old, old guys. Team 120 will be my 49th Vol team. My first game attended was Tulane in 1967. So, I got out the Tennessee media guide and put the games in a spreadsheet.
Overall Record: 235-81-7 for 73.8% (treated ties as 1/2 win and 1/2 loss)
Home Record: 211-69-6
Away Record: 12-4-1
Neutral Sites: 12-8 of those 15 are bowl games
Bowl Record: 9-6

Went 25 years without missing a home game. Longest winning streak 24 games (1996-1999); longest losing streak four games (1988). Before I actually looked, I would have thought the losing streak would have been during the Dooley years (sure felt like it) or the beginning of the Majors era. In 1988, the Vols were 5-6, lost the first six and then won the next five. That was the year prior to two straight SEC Championships

Awesome

As an extension of the other thread discussing our most heartbreaking losses, it made me think back to all of the games I've attended over the years, which got me thinking, what is MY record with the Vols? Below is every Vols game I've attended, and the results. I know it would take some older fans days to put their list together, but here's mine.

2004 @South Carolina W
2005 South Carolina L
2006 Air Force W
2006 @South Carolina W
2007 Ark State W
2007 South Carolina W
2010 Ole Miss W
2012 Ga State W
2012 Florida L
2012 Missouri L
2013 Austin Peay W
2013 South Carolina W
2014 Utah State W
2014 Florida L
2014 Missouri L
2014 Iowa W
2015 South Carolina W

My record with the Vols is 12-5. What's yours?

Thanks but with 5 losses credited to you now, you are officially banned from any future games.
