What is your prediction for attendance at the Southern Miss game?

I have missed 3 home games since 2001 and if CBJ is coach I’m not going back to a game. Our fanbase is the most underserved in the country for the support we give to the university.

That's probably true. I can't think of a school that, relative to the support they receive, has put a worse product on the field over the last 10-15 years.

Perhaps Texas, but not for a 15-year stretch (more like 6-7).

With all the he's gone, he's staying, he'll coach the rest of the season, etc, how many will brave the cold to attend the next home game?

Not going to a game just let's the players down! The coach will be fired for his record. Don't take it out on the players who are working hard daily to make Tennessee Football great again! Go Vols!

We should be supporting the team regardless, Going to a game doesn't support the coach, it supports the players!

Do what you want, but I won’t be going and won’t go again as long as Butch Jones is stealing money and John Currie is letting him. Personally I know it won’t happen but I’d love to see the stadium pretty empty overall that week just to send Currie a resounding message.

The fact that we still show is one of the great things about this fan base, but it’s definitely a double edged sword at times.

Hmm, I might want to change my estimate of 50K. I did a quick check, looks like 99K showed up for the game against WY back in 2008.

UT had already announced the firing of Fulmer before that game. There was no reason to boycott it.

Good point. Maybe another reason Currie should have pulled the trigger yesterday, particularly if its a done deal. But hey maybe it is and Jones took less of a buyout in exchange for finishing the season (hoping to improve his resume before he is shown the door).

There’s way too many people who ‘support the team’ and go to watch the $h** show no matter what. News flash - you’re not supporting the team when you continue to ensure Jones’ job security by attending games. The players deserve a coach that teaches them how to be better football players than the day they arrived on campus. They don’t have that right now and the AD seems perfectly ok with that because the fans are also (by spending money on tickets) accepting the mediocrity.

I get this logic, but why penalize the fans? We're supposed to forfeit the money spent on tickets, lodging, arrangements?

Many go with their families and friends as a bonding experience. Don't try and ruin their experience just because fans are angry that Butch is the coach.

so news flash... we will do what we want. It's our money. Our time. Our experience.

It will probably be more than most think. Regardless of how VN thinks, there are thousands and thousands of Tennessee fans who will show up to the games. Whomever the head coach is.

It's like taking the family to your colonoscopy.
Everyone is uncomfortable, bored, and your hoping your Dr. (Currie at the game) knows what he is doing.

I live 1000 miles away and only get to go to a few home games a year. It’s an opportunity to spend time with my family. It never gets old to watch the power T form and hear the band play Rocky Top. My Love of TN doesn’t change regardless of who’s coaching on the side lines. If I sat thru every game of the Dooley years as a graduate student - I can make it through 3 more Home games with Butch.

No offense meant buddy. I'm on to the laughing to keep from crying point with UT football.

I'm with you I wondered before the Georgia game. If Tennessee football means nothing to the athletic department should I even care?

Then seeing Neyland checkered, team runs onto the field. I knew I had no choice. Just done with this 3 ring circus and ready for the obvious call to everyone on planet earth not named John Currie to be made.
