I was just wondering, what do you guys think about Coach DeBord after a full season. Is he an improvement or is he still the wash everyone complained about at the UF game?

Debord is fine. He calls a competent game. I think the Oklahoma and Florida games were bad but more because of trying to hold instead of extend leads.

His run blocking schemes are outstanding. Needs to work on QB development with regard to the passing game. I think for the most part he calls a good game within CBJ's system.

Well lining up under the center today was an upgrade. True up the downfield passing game and we are very hard to stop!

An old school coach who has done a B- job this year. If we were looking for an innovator we failed. If we were looking for sound fundamentals we succeeded.

We need to be a little more balanced to go where we want next year.

He's a little predictable and hits the panic button a littlle too soon. It drove me crazy that UT would go normal pace, then when the defense gives up a long tiring drive, IT goes hurry up offense for a 3 n out.

However, I think to be out of the game so long he's been as good as you could expect. Excellent recovery vs UGA and EXCELLENT gameplan vs Alabama.

I think it took several games for him and this still yiung team to figure things out and then they got on a roll. I'm just fine with him staying on for long term. The offense has been great.

I'd just like to add that Dobbs has also improved as a passer....like, A LOT.

I noticed today that he was making excellent reads and some great throws - the issue seemed to be more on the receiver's part than the QB's

I really enjoyed watching his run blocking schemes. He also did a terrific job setting up plays for later in the game. I think we will be good to bring in a QB coach and let Debord move over to TE's where his experience fits more. All in all I am happy with today's performance and most of our performances throughout the year. Big thing to show next year is that him and Butch have learned how to stay smart and aggressive with a two or three score lead.

Agree. Also, it seems that Butch has started to trust him more as the season has gone on to stray further from the CBJ spread scheme.

I thought he made some good reads but made way more bad ones, atleast during today's game.

Well...I think I was paying too little attention. The passing game still obviously needs work, but it seems to me that the issue doesn't seem to be - just - Dobbs. His throws are a little under-done but I feel like it's all there to work out.

I'm not really sure what it is at this point. Dobb's still mis-reads the left side, but he doesn't run around like a damn fool that leads to a rushed throw.

I just don't get it.

I think Debord calls a good game. The obvious next step for Dobbs is learning how to complete the deep pass. His 10-20 yd throws are much better this season however he cannot hit a deep pass for $h!t. With the weapons on the outside including wolfe and the running backs coming back there is no way we should not average 35+ pts next season.
The defense will be unreal and people need to realize how important defense is in regards to a great offense. Field position from the defense as well as special teams means everything to high scoring. The special teams will still be great but Medley has improve. The sky's the limit now! 2016 or die.

CBJ has improved this team by 2 wins each yr. Like him or not that is true progression and program building. Another strong recruiting class as well coming so we are going to be really good.

I think Debord has done a good job utilizing the strength of our team which is the power run game. Assuming Kamara comes back next year, our run game should be flat out nasty. As much as anything, because of the continued improvement of our O Line. If Debord can inprove our downfield pass game, our offense has a chance to be border line unstoppable. We shall see, Go Debord, go vols :)

I look at 2015 being DeBord's SEC and UT acclimation period.

2016 looks to be VERY promising.

Overall, I think we upgraded. He isn't flashy or innovative but he knows what he has and plays to those strengths for the most part. His run schemes are excellent and have allowed us to put up historic numbers in that area. He is also excellent at setting up plays early that payoff later in the game. Add to that his ability to coach multiple positions and shore up our OL and I think this hire worked out fairly well for us.
