What is your new top 10? (11/13)

I have no problem when it's clear that Alabama would annihilate Oregon head to head. Just because they won a vastly inferior conference doesn't mean jack****. They'd be lucky to finish 3rd in the SEC West.

Its a major conference either way and that should hold more weight than bamas 3rd place finish in the sec. If they win out oregon is more deserving.

Not even close. As for Bama finishing 3rd, who wins? Alabama or Georgia/South Carolina? Is there any way Georgia/South Carolina beats them if they played 10 times? I don't think so.

So not making a conference championship is better than winning a major congerence?... that makes no sense especially when the 2 teams at hand have the same record. I said 3rd because if georgia wins out they at least make the championship game.

Do I think oregon can beat bama? Sure, but all I said was they were more deserving because they will have won their conference while bama couldn't even win their side.

How is it clear that Alabama would annihilate us head to head? You know we outgained LSU 335-272, right? They were greatly aided by 3 fumbles, one of which was returned for a TD. Two of their scoring drives were 40 yard drives simply because of turnovers. Meanwhile, we had 3 65+ yard touchdown drives.

I'm not saying that we would easily beat Alabama. I think it would be a good game, as would a rematch with LSU. We've made significant improvements since Sep. 3.

Ted Miller has a pretty good post on the comparison of performances here: Watch out for poor ole Oregon - Pac-12 Blog - ESPN

Haven't posted here in a while, but I was lurking and saw this, and the notion that we couldn't compete with LSU or Alabama is just flawed. Not trying to troll or anything....but yeah. I'll go now.

Agree with you, Sith.

And I don't think LSU is far and away the best team in the nation, either. It would be a GREAT year for a playoff.

Even if Oregon beatdown #4 Stanford in Stanford's home? Even if it means Oregon will win the Pac 12 if they win out? I have a problem with having a team playing for a NC when they don't even play for their own conference championship. We'll just disagree on that all day long.

My original comment was about a potential meltdown including a 1 loss Oregon and/or 1 loss Okie State being snubbed out of a NC. The best case scenario to avoid mayhem is for LSU and Okie St. to go undefeated.

Alabama's lose to LSU is equal to Oregon's lose to LSU. A lose is a lose. All one lose BCS teams should get equal consideration if Ok. state loses.

Why the hell do people think Oregon is better than Alabama?

The main person arguing that side is UGAInsider. If UGA's SEC west schedule had involved someone besides Ole Miss, MSU, and Auburn, he'd understand that LSU and Bama are #1 and #2. If we had UGA's schedule and I was trying to convince myself that we could've won the east even with a more difficult schedule, I too would be saying LSU and Bama are beatable. After LSU smacks the dawgs around by about 35 points, he'll start to get it.

Right, the PAC-12 Champion can never even compete with an SEC Champion, let alone a team that does not even win the SEC.

(Nevermind the fact that Oregon only lost to Auburn by 3 last season).

Both teams lost to LSU. The difference is that Bama's (OT) loss kept them from winning their conference and Oregon's didn't. If Bama is the better team, which they easily are, there's no need to penalize them for that.

Auburn had a terrible defense and neither of these teams will give Oregon that luxury.

Talk about taking something way out of context.

Of course Bama and LSU are both great teams, nobody is denying that. To say that Bama, who played LSU is T-town, is more worthy of of NC shot than Oregon is insane IMO. Oregon could win the Pac 12 and Bama will not even win their own division.

What is Bama's most impressive win? Beating Arky in T-town IMO. Did you see what Oregon did to Stanford?

If we ever needed a true playoff, this is the year. I just don't understand who people can speculate about team X being better than team Y because of the conference they play in. Oregon is a very good looking team, people need to start showing them some love.

Bama is more worthy and if Oregon played in the SEC West, they wouldn't have won the division either. You're giving Oregon a pass over Bama because they don't play in the SEC. Weak

As I said in another thread... LSU was up 33-13 to start the 4th quarter and up 40-20 with 15 seconds left in the game. Oregon scored a garbage touchdown with 13 seconds left to make it 40-27. Oregon in no way deserves to play LSU over Bama if it comes down to that. They were basically spanked by three touchdowns. Alabama lost by three points(in OT)

Giving up twenty-seven points, after forcing four turnovers, is manhandling an offense?

It was. The game was over and many of those were window dressing.

If Oregon doesn't put up over 27, which is clearly overstated, they can't beat any good football team, unless they make 5 TOs.

Just because LSU beat Oregon by more points does not necessarily mean Bama is a better team. Bama very well may be the better team, but I can't say that for sure. Bama played LSU in T-town so it does not surprise me that it would be a close game. Oregon played LSU in a "neutral" site which is more of an LSU home game.

We might as well see LSU and Bama in the SECCG also since they are the two best SEC teams. I get that they are two of the best teams in the country, who happen to play in the same division, but sometimes it just works out like that.
