What is your biggest concern

What is your biggest concern about the Vols (besides losing ) this year?
I worry that Dobbs can't throw it accurately and consistently enough to keep the defense from loading the box making it tough on Hurd and Kamara all year long.
That could make for a long tough year for them.
I have to confess that I teared up last night when they ran through the T. Then I wanted to tear up again watching our performance. VFL.

o-line, coaching, lack of leadership by Dobbs, R_Maybin and Sutton.

After the game we just saw Both of your statements are demonstrably false. I certainly do hope they improve to those levels though.

Lol some people just don't know football. That game proved nothing, expect what i already knew which is Dobbs still a bad QB and Hurd is overrated by the fan base. We have a team that is loaded with natty hopes and they have to get up to play a mickey mouse team. games like that shouldn't be on the schedule.

Do you watch football? great teams have games like this every year. Ohio state lost to a Va tech team which might have lost to this APP team and went on to win the natty. We came out and dominated OU, UF and stuck it to Alabama last year and you think all the sudden we have major issues?. This game is pretty much irrelevant, nobody wanted to be there. If we struggle next week then we can talk about the D line and online regressing.

My biggest concern is how the coaching staff is using dobbs. He isn't a drop back passer and never will be. He's a scramble around extending plays until someone gets open, or makes a play with his feet. He's a read option QB, not a DT or pocket passer. Malzahn at auburn would kill to have dobbs taking snaps from the gun.

No qb in the nation would have had a great game getting the pressure Dobbs got. There were 3 passing plays where Thomas literally whiffed on his guy. Dobbs would drop back and have a guy in his face immediately. Dobbs needs to play better, but our pass pro was awful.

I would love to see Hurd run in a pro style O. He just needs a place to run. I mean we tried over and over to run him wide with nothing there. Get Hurd going north and south with a hole, and he is a beast.

VT and OSU was a monumental upset imo. But, there are pretty big differences between that game and our game. Barret was a RS FR making his second start. We didnt dominate OU and UF. We played better than they did in the first half oft those games. Then the second half happened and no adjustments were made and we lost. We played great against Alabama but lost due to them being better.

Nobody wanted to be there playing the game?? Are you serious? Do you ever watch football? This is the first year since 2006 that we have had expectations this high and nobody wanted to be there? If this team cannot get up for every sinle game this year, given the possibilities they could achieve, then there are major problems. Your game was irrelevant excuse is a cop out. Great teams have games like this every year? Tell me how many games Alabama had like this last year.

Michigan state had one tonight. Florida had one the last two seasons. Florida state plays down to teams like wake Forrest and Boston college every year. Auburn almost lost to j state. LSU struggled. Oregon let eastern Washington hang 30-40 on them, I could go on and on and on. That's just off the top of my head.

Well if we have a season like auburn did last year after playing j state close, it will be a failure

Consistency in the passing game.I'm in favor of splitting the practice reps 50/50 between Dobbs and Dormady at this point. I like Dobbs a lot,but he is who he is at this point. Between his passing ability and Debord's playcalling, we may as well be running the option.

I think a lot of Dobbs problems is he is in his own head to much. He keeps hearing the coaches say don't make mistakes. Pull the read option more and run it. Try to get the ball down field more. He just looks like he is holding the ball to long and thinking to much. He needs to play just like he did in the comeback win at South Carolina. Loose and free. And he will be a much better quarterback.

OL followed by Dobbs. You cant compete for this league with anything close to what we showed last nite. No reason for it to look that pitiful at that many spots. Key to the castle.
