Taking an offensive and or defensive prespective...

If you were Coach Lane Kiffin; what couple of things look really favorable to UT on paper?

Conversely, and in addition to a possible Special-Teams mismatch ... what other things would you say might just give Tennessee match-up fits???

TIA-

Also, Tyrod can't really throw too well. Our DB's should be all over the passing game.

Then again if he can't find anyone open, then he will take off and we HAVE to stop that.

Monte should have some good schemes with so much time for preparation.

The only Game Monte had no answer on Defense was Dexter McCluster and Ole Miss. VT doesn't Have anyone that electric. If he can stop Bama he can stop the Hokies

Also, Flordia! He has plenty of time to figure it out. He'll get the job done, I dnt think thats gona be a prob. at all! If J.C can throw like he did against UGA and not try and force things, then we should wlk out with a big W IMO.

Defensively we have to have someone spy T.T. the entire game
Offensively we have to pound the rock constantly and sprinkle in some play action.

They are fast but with a month off and time to heal we will be playing pretty fast ourselves. Some of our biggest playmakers on Defense are leaving next year so this will be their last game to just leave it all on the field.
Its Berry's Hometown....and I think Janzen will be flying around as well as Rogan. Dan Williams, Rico McCoy, Wes Brown All of those guys are going to contribute to some big time licks in this game!
I think if Thompson and Herman Lathers can stay home and seal the edge and not let things get outside then VT is going to be in for a long game!

I am most worried about our Lack of Special Teams! VT is amazing in that area and with the way Cunningham punts they are going to get some blocks...He is so slow on his release and lets not even talk about field goal kicking....I would not be surprised at all that if we are inside the 50 yard line that we dont go for it unless its like 4th and 25...

Are you an Assistant Coach using the social media to determine your game plan Bourbon? In the couple of weeks that you have been posting here it would seem that you have gathered quite a bit of information about the matchup. Writer? Coach? What is it? If it is a writer I would that we have supplied more than 50% of your article on the game so that you should post it here. No works cited page needed.

he is from a VT site. I'm sure he's just trying to educate his readers like we do

By the way, how's Snowshoe right about now? I heard they got dumped on in this last snow storm...

Different kind of back from McCluster. Williams will still be hard to contain but McCluster's speed we had no answer for.

That's of interest to me. Your UT D's size (kinda slim) and Poppa Kiffin's schemes (Tampa based) predicate themselves on Speed right?

Speed would be the one thing I'd think you guys have. Is that incorrect?

We didn't have the players to get the most out of Monte's scheme to start with and injuries have really depleted the depth and talent even more. Our LBers have been hit particularly hard. We need a couple more recruiting classes to fill in some holes and get the most out of Monte's scheme IMO.

yes we have speed but we are also thin up front and playing some young guys (true frosh). They're talented but young and fast sometimes gets beat by misdirection. Good thing is we have time to get some guys healthier so it should be much improved

We got 19`` about 45 minutes south of Winter Place. Being north of us, Winter Place got a low; Snowshoe musta gotten way way more.

I've not had the time to go up this year (post VT Bowling I will).

Winterplace Ski Resort

Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort - Official Website - Snowshoe, West Virginia

If our local longterm forecasts are correct; both places should have extra long ski seasons this year. HTH's and enjoy! :good!:

Special teams is the big concern and Tryrod in the open field. I expect him to have a couple of big runs but we should be able to contain him.

Our offense has to acount for your olb Cody Grimm. He isn't overly impressive at first but all he does is make plays. I could see him creating a turnover by blowing up a screen or short crossing route.

I think we have more depth at rb and our secondary is better than your recievers. I think Monte's blitzes and coverages will have Tryod a bit confused.

Good deal. Maybe you could just start a thread with the link in there. I always like unbias sports information. Really enjoy talking to fans(intelligent) about upcoming matchups. Didn't mean to grill.

that's the way I see our D playing, very similar to the UF game. If he can confuse Tebow he can stump TT. Contain, stop the run and make him beat us with his arm. If we do that I think we win.

+1. The result is Monte brings Berry up to the line a lot in a SS/LB type roll. Jackson ends up being the safety net so we don't get beat deep.
