What is wrong with you people

As I've said before---I'm having flashbacks to Fulmer---when everyone was on the bandwagon to fire him....It's bringing back repressed rage of the events that ensued. We played with Oregon and had them whipped in the first half. I was extremely impressed with that first half performance. But-----ran out of depth.

As far as people questioning why an offense was important----ask LSU. Offense couldn't get across the 50, and they may have had a better defense than Alabama. Their offense was stagnant, and their coach was retarded enough to leave in Jefferson, when Lee was ready to go. The most stupid coaching decision I've ever seen....

For the record, I did not want Fulmer fired. 2 losing seasons in 17 years was not enough for me to give up on the man. CDD has done nothing BUT lose ball games. They are in no way alike or will ever be similar at all.

I would argue that CDDs decision to play a "sick" Bray VS a UK team that Simms or Worley would have beat would rank way up there in the stupid coaching decisions. JMO

All the negativity is doing nothing good for this University. All the garbage on VN is hurting what Dooley and Hart are tring to put together. I'm sure they are working long hours talking to recruits and coaches that we need to keep this program going in the right direction. The negativity on here is surley slowing down the process that Dooley and Hart are working so hard to achieve. Why can't we be patient a couple weeks and let these guys do the job they are paid to do. Stop the negative post and get behind our guys. The attitude on VN does not deserve a big name DC. No wonder Dooley and Hart are having such a hard time . If we could get behind our guys we might help bring in the quality coaches we all wont. The fan base is a big part of a University. What is being said on here is not helping. Can we think positive and be patient? Give our guys a chance to find the right people for the job. That is all I will say. Im going to wait and see what our guys put together and support them.

We have screwed up our football program badly and the jury is out on bball. It is going to be 10 years before we ever have 9 wins again. Rats are jumping ship right and left. It is what it is, no matter how muchbsome people want to think this is all good. Time to admit that howling for Fulmer's job has backfired royally.

This is going to be the FOURTH YEAR. NOTHING IS BETTER.

The sad thing is that Fulmer can get no satisfaction from this because he bleeds orange.

I would argue we could hire ANYONE with a winning record as a HC and stand a better chance to win games in 2012. CDDs record as a HC says he is a loser when it comes to winning ball games. CDD was hired because we needed a warm body to stand in as HC at a bargain price while we got past the NCAA stuff. 4 million dollars + and winning coaches would listen. UT, it's players, and it's fans deserve to win. We should not have to wait 2 more years to do it. JMO

Why shouldn't you have to wait until we have players in place to win? and why do the fans deserve to win? are they going out there and busting ass everyday in the weight room? They going through the heartbreak of season ending injuries? Giving up every other part of a life besides football and school in order to try and make something of themselves?

Your a joke and you don't DESERVE to lick the dog crap off of CDD shoes.

Let's fire him and start all over again, never get another decent recruit in our lifetimes because they know we will have a different coach every single year because its impossible to win without the proper personnel but we refuse to give anyone enough time to get it.

Wow. Do I even need to write anything?

That's what is wrong with you Dooley sheep, you yell at everyone and say they don't know what's going on, yet you all are the ones with zero perspective.

Bama made a smart choice and went and hired the best in the business. They got tired of hiring Dooley after Dooley and went and shelled out big money to someone who was proven. Saban said no multiple times, but they kept raising the ante until it was too good to say no.

How about we try that out? Go after someone worth a damn. Think outside the box. Go find someone who has a good job, and offer them until they can't say no.

It's simple economics. We're in a tough spot, in a tough conference. I don't disagree. But the way to get out of it is not to hire someone from LA Tech and offer low class money compared to who he has to compete against. You go find who is close to the top of his profession, and you throw some serious, serious money at him. You think Bama is sweating paying Saban's paychecks? I doubt it, look at the money they are bringing in from ticket sales, merchandise, etc. Do you think they look back now and are upset they fired people and paid buyouts? No, they are spending money for a cleaning company to come in and clean their stocked trophy case. Not to mention, ESPN and every other single media outlet is giving them free advertising to recruits. Advertising we would pay millions for.

You like Bob Stoops? You like Mike Gundy? You like Chris Peterson? You like Gary Patterson? I could keep going. You pick who you like, and you go offer money until they come. He says no to $4 mil? Offer $5 and some serious bonus stipulation money. If one just won't budge, you move down the list of top guys, don't just fall to the lower tier of bullcrap. It's called sales guys, it's not for pussies.

You get what you pay for in life.

I agree that's how the hiring of a HC or DC should start. Being realistic, it probably shouldn't be that aggressive. But I think no matter what situation the head football coach should be given a minimum of 3 years to right the ship. More like 4 or 5 IMO. We have to have patience and let him bring in his players. Now I'm not saying to lower expectations. Just be realistic. We have to be patient for one more year or two. If by that time we are not improving drastically then he needs to be let go. I think getting rid of him this early will result in a major setback. Plus he is bringing in talent so if he does end up being fired it could make UT a much better situation for those big name coaches. We don't have the talent and depth yet to make it appealing enough. I do hope CDD is here for a long time though.

Dooley needs time. There were problems this year but last year I really thought we showed some life, sometimes everything goes against you. I played on a team like that my junior year of h.s. it sucked and had us all scratching our heads. It happens. Anybody that says anything positive is attacked as a Dooley lover/idiot. It's not about loving or hating Dooley, it's about the program. This site drives me crazy, I gotta see what's going on then I go away shaking my head.

If you believe coaches and recruits are really influenced by VN boy you must really have enjoyed the Twilight Zone years ago.We are in a tough spot but sorry can't grasp that VN is influencing alot.We all have opinions and that is what you're reading. The realism is DD is in a tough spot.Do you think coaches are leaving because of VN i don't think so.In the last several weeks VN has had about 5 or 6 coaches being hired for DC.We all have the right to vent or guess that is the fun of it.But anyone that thinks we are influencing something happening at UT.All i can say is WOW the power of the pen.

I can say, Im just glad I had a business trip this week. it helped not getting on the Vol Nation board for the roller coaster ride...hope we have a HDC announced today...I will be in the airport around noon....we will see how many reporters are hangin to see who come thru the airport today...but CDD probably has the new coach driving in...funning watching Hart and CDD playing media games with all involved...

Yep, a similar quick trigger got us an SEC Championship two years after the deed was done.

The General didn't have the same tolerance for losing you seem to have.

in 1947 Neyland went 5-5
in 1948 Neyland went 4-4-2

buy your reasoning Neyland should have fired himself after those two years.

And how is anything you said in your first paragraph the fault of Tennessee fans?

Can we clone Neyland? No. But we should learn by his example. When he was in better health and in full charge of UTAD, a Dooley-level performance back then was grounds for dismissal after two years.

Tough schedule? Yes. But any level of development on the offensive line, in the running backs, and on special teams would've given us the balance necessary to win at an acceptable level. No one on this forum, save a few Dooley apologists, believed this team could compete for the SEC East or the SEC championship. But many of us believed a winning season and a bowl was a reasonable standard for this program at this stage of its development. Rebuilding implies improvement over the course of time. Were we a better team at the end of 2011 than we were at the opening? Of course not.

And the claim that our running game has improved is laughable. The numbers simply do not back you up.

You can be positive without demanding results. I want a tangible reason to be positive. Our leadership should not be willing to give this coach 5 years before he's forced to put forth evidence that he is moving Tennessee forward. That is where we completely disagree.

once again you dont have a clue about what you are talking about.

in 1947 Neyland went 5-5
in 1948 Neyland went 4-4-2

I guess according to you Neyland sucked and should have been fired.

Right ?

We need more Great2BeATnVOL fans. Enthusiasm, positive attutide and support does help our program. It is a shame that new recruits: believe in Tennessee, are more loyal to Tennessee and come to Tennessee to help build a winning program, than so called fans who live our history and tradition. I am sure Negative fans will try to change that(mostly trollls), when they get here. Players see and hear this poison in and around campus and immediately question....".Maybe Tennessee isn't the place for me"... Coach Dooley has worked hard to rebuild this program. There is No coach living nor dead that could take what was left by Fulmer and Kiffin and do any better. I did see great progress in our younger players this year, we are on the track to successfully rebuilding. There is no immediate gratification in where we were. Encouragement any time helps speed up the process. Dooley may not be the finisher, but he is doing a hell of a job with what he had when he started this rebuilding phase. Positive reinforcement builds positive results... We are Tennessee, we don't need to BUY
big time, if they are not Big time when they get here....... they will be Big time before they leave. Tennesse desn't need to buy "BIG TIME" to get media attention, WE earn it! Frustrating? YES.... Worth it? Hell YES!!!!

Losing to Kentucky is a bigger deal than most think. Set the tone negative. Then you hear some of our best players don't care, half ass practice and apparently don't give a rats ass. None of that can be swept under the rug or ignored.

Then all the coaches bailing on Dooley and it seems he can't even pay a guy good money to come here. Big problem with that is Dooley knew it was coming and from the looks of it didn't have a real good plan in place when it happened.

He should have never been given the job. It was too big a jump. This is big boy football in a big boy conference. It isn't the WAC. Worst part is, he didn't do much there either.

Dumpster fire............................

This is such a myopic view point. Some people on this board give themselves and us WAY too much credit. This board represents probably 1/50th of the entire fanbase, if even that.[/QUOTE

I agree with you to a point. The people on here and the ones that call in to radio shows are the vocal part of the fanbase. And just like with anthing i guess, people that complain get more media coverage. That is why the so called experts say Dooley is on the hot seat. He may be with vocal fans but is he with the AD.?

It's pretty damn bad when a school"s own fan base is it's worse enemy. :loco:  :ermm:  :nono: :bash: :banghead2::puke5: :drive2::horse::bs:

Please, live in the real world. Dooley is on his way out and every one of these DC names knows it.

Your negative attitude is not helpful. Some people are just negative people, and they wonder why they have been losers all their life. Think positive.
