What is wrong with you people

This is such a myopic view point. Some people on this board give themselves and us WAY too much credit. This board represents probably 1/50th of the entire fanbase, if even that.

Worrrd. We are the Vocal MINORITY!!! if any coach thinks to himself I am gonna patrol the message boards and see what the fans think of their current coach or of me. They are incompetent. They should spend more time improving their profession in whatever avenue they can. Recruiting, schematics, buying a nice suit, working on charming players mother whatever. But to be concerned about message boarders is ludicrous seeing as every fan base has these.

that may be, but he raises a valid point. recruits and their parents read sites like this and see all the instability within the fan-base. that negativity reflects on the program.

Recruits realize that this forum has been hijacked by misfits, and will take the comments as they are - pure hyperbole.

So we can also blame the message board for Daniel Lincoln shanking the field goal against Alabama, Darr averaging 5.2 yards per punt, Da'Rick dropping a sure fire TD against South Carolina. Heck, this could be fun and also take away any kind of accountability. Good idea OP.

I too believe our fan base is part of UT's PR problem. We're being perceived as a bunch of nitwit retards. No one wants to join such vitriol group as vol fans have been. I know it's frustrating but we are doing more damage than good with the careless talk. It's destroying our brand. Flame away.

I wont flame you for the post but whatever that thing in your avatar is odd.

That one was not my fault

We also wrote Kiffin's buyout clause, and decided how/when to fire Fulmer.

I'm a damn good fundraiser though, so cut me some slack.

I guess I should step up and take the blame for the offensive line. It is my fault this line couldn't even run the football against a lingerie team.

I'll accept my share of the blame, too. I expected the team to play four whole quarters, when they were tired after two.

I know if I were a top DC the 1st thing I would do before signing a 3 year deal at Tennessee for a million a year would be to check out what fans on VN were saying. If they doubt the program, obviously it would be a bad decision to sign the deal. :eek:lol:

Perhaps you struggle with seeing something called THE BIG PICTURE---but this whole negavol bull **** permeates everything pertaining to the program. You realize human communication grows exponentially??? So if someone sees something on this site and he tells 3 friends about how ****ty the attitude at UT is---and that guys 3 friends tell 3 more friends---before you know it--everyone is thinking Knoxville is on fire due to some ****in' closet Bama fans trying to sow seeds of discontent in the Tennessee Athletic Department.

Did you retards that chased Fulmer away not eat enough crow!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Jesus ****ign Christ---you chase out Dooley----who WHOOOOO is going to come you dumb mother ****ers? Bama and Saban got lucky as hell that he somehow pulled something out of his ass in his 2nd year. That's not standard. Things take time to develop--and if we continually undercut a coach's ability to assemble a roster of HIS guys with HIS coaches...the entire program suffers.

Jesus----I know it may be tough for the majority of you but exercise some big picture thinking. ****.:banghead2:

But it certainly hurts the university, and can help a 18 yr. old decide to play somewhere else. Perception sometimes is stronger than truth.

How many recruits even know about volnation? I didn't know about this place until I was 22. I think you're blowing this way out of proportion.

If my sentiments were to grow exponentially, id be thrilled. We would be rid of the guy posing as an SEC coach sooner rather than later.

Ask our friends to the South if they're sorry for their unrealistic expectations. Wonder how being fed up with mediocrity worked out for them?

Well....I don't think it's very difficult for a recruit to google his name. Most of my google searches of a recruit lead me to a VN thread.

The 1st thing I would suggest you do is to put the pipe down. You really need to calm down a bit.

I agree things take time to develop. The problem is when you hire a career losing coach more often than not, no amount of time is going to fix him. Most SEC teams/ADs would not consider a coach who has lost more than he has won. Hamilton rolled the dice and took a chance and we are now paying for it. Moving forward into 2012 expecting CDD to all a sudden become a good on the field coach is just hopes and dreams. He has not done it anywhere. Expecting him to do it in the SEC does not make alot of sense. All your ranting and cussing will not change that or make those who question his ability expect to win.

All the negativity is doing nothing good for this University. All the garbage on VN is hurting what Dooley and Hart are tring to put together. I'm sure they are working long hours talking to recruits and coaches that we need to keep this program going in the right direction. The negativity on here is surley slowing down the process that Dooley and Hart are working so hard to achieve. Why can't we be patient a couple weeks and let these guys do the job they are paid to do. Stop the negative post and get behind our guys. The attitude on VN does not deserve a big name DC. No wonder Dooley and Hart are having such a hard time . If we could get behind our guys we might help bring in the quality coaches we all wont. The fan base is a big part of a University. What is being said on here is not helping. Can we think positive and be patient? Give our guys a chance to find the right people for the job. That is all I will say. Im going to wait and see what our guys put together and support them.

Oh shut up OP, your whining adds nothing to the discussion.

Bama and Saban got lucky as hell

Wow. Do I even need to write anything?

That's what is wrong with you Dooley sheep, you yell at everyone and say they don't know what's going on, yet you all are the ones with zero perspective.

Bama made a smart choice and went and hired the best in the business. They got tired of hiring Dooley after Dooley and went and shelled out big money to someone who was proven. Saban said no multiple times, but they kept raising the ante until it was too good to say no.

How about we try that out? Go after someone worth a damn. Think outside the box. Go find someone who has a good job, and offer them until they can't say no.

It's simple economics. We're in a tough spot, in a tough conference. I don't disagree. But the way to get out of it is not to hire someone from LA Tech and offer low class money compared to who he has to compete against. You go find who is close to the top of his profession, and you throw some serious, serious money at him. You think Bama is sweating paying Saban's paychecks? I doubt it, look at the money they are bringing in from ticket sales, merchandise, etc. Do you think they look back now and are upset they fired people and paid buyouts? No, they are spending money for a cleaning company to come in and clean their stocked trophy case. Not to mention, ESPN and every other single media outlet is giving them free advertising to recruits. Advertising we would pay millions for.

You like Bob Stoops? You like Mike Gundy? You like Chris Peterson? You like Gary Patterson? I could keep going. You pick who you like, and you go offer money until they come. He says no to $4 mil? Offer $5 and some serious bonus stipulation money. If one just won't budge, you move down the list of top guys, don't just fall to the lower tier of bullcrap. It's called sales guys, it's not for pussies.

You get what you pay for in life.
