What is wrong with Alabama?

Most lines are at Vols -5. When you consider home field is worth 3 points Vegas pretty much sees this game as a toss up.

Ok let me explain this so hopefully the picture becomes clear.

When I say Vegas rarely gets it wrong I mean the odds makers rarely get it wrong, not the people who place the bets.

The line which was set by "Vegas" came out at -8, it got bet down to -5. So "Vegas" see's Florida as at least 5 points better than UT right now (when you factor in home field advantage). Which "Vegas" puts out a line that looks ridiculous to attract money on Tennessee. AKA a sucker bet

Now they could certainly be wrong however the are right a hell of a lot more than they are wrong. That's why they're still in business.

Betting lines are designed to entice you to bet your hard earned money, so that they can take it.

It amazes me how many people don't understand this concept.

When the money get too great on one side, they move the line to cover their bets.

It's kind of like this threaded. Written to get people replying.

You got the concept right however you're misguided on who they're suckering here. They're trying to sucker people into betting on UT, notice how quickly the line dropped?

Only thing Bama has to worry about is keeping all those 4 and 5 star players that ride the pine happy. New cars, shoes , money, girls, whatever it takes.

This whole thread is bait. We might as well debate how many angels can fit on the head of a pin because this is all faith-based conjecture.

If A>B, and C>D, then what conclusions can we make about A related to C? The answer is none.

So tired of these idiot threads.

Bama just beat FSU handily. And now some moron is comparing am FBS team to an FCS team. Laughable.

Exhibit A: Since the Indwelling (Saban becoming coach), Crimson Tide fans have killed humans and trees while in the grip of their "passion" for Bama football.

It is very interesting here to listen to Alabama fans complain about Jalen Hurts, and how he is going to get them beat because he is not the QB to lead them to the National Championship! ha

Do you have time to do an investigation to find the evidence to being them down? The cars should be easy to trace.

Alabama lost two starting linebackers I think before this game. Seems they were able to plug two more in and do fairly well. Evidently great against the rush and not as good against the pass.

They lost the chance at a NC when the two OLBs went down against Fl St. Both were HS 5 star players. Even they can't replace that. They don't have anyone who can come off the edge like either of those, their two best outside rush guys. They will still likely win the SEC but not the NC.

While I hate to question your vast knowledge of the Alabama program, I'd like to know how you reached this conclusion.

Lewis and Jennings had one sack between them, in their careers, prior to getting hurt. How can you possibly know that they are Bama's "two best outside rush guys"?

I thought Vegas put the line at a number that would get the max amount bet on both sides.

Preseason rankings are just guess work. Nobody knows how good Florida State or Alabama are. The media just thought they were good in the preseason. Using preseason rankings as a tool in your argument of who is good and who ain't isn't a smart move.

We'll see by the end of the season how good Alabama is. I personally think this is the beginning of the end for Alabama.

They won't make it to another SEC Championship until 2020.

This is the (most recent) dumbest thing you've ever said...

They were our two best OLBs / edge russhers. That's why they were the starters. Huge losses. Best backup OLB and best ILB were injured vs FSU too. Hopefully, they'll be back in next couple of weeks or so.

That has beem said every time they have had to replace a player.. and yet..

Besides the obvious.

Most agree that Alabama is the standard that all teams should compare themselves to.

Many on hear say that Tennessee is not very good.

I present exhibit A:

Fresno State: 216 yds. Passing & 71 yds. Rushing - 10 pts. / 287 yds. total
Alabama: 192 yds. Passing & 305 yds. Rushing - 41 pts. / 497 yds. total

Indiana State: 93 yds. Passing & 136 yds. Rushing - 7 pts. / 229 yds. total
Tennessee: 235 yds. Passing & 172 yds. Rushing - 42 pts. / 407 yds. total *Tennessee had a 91 yd. kick off return that isn't in the total.

This doesn't exactly help our case.. Indiana St is below Average FCS team.Fresno would kill them. If we had played Fresno we would have need a 2nd half comeback to win by 3..

Neither Lewis nor Miller started.

They were starters

Watching them in the games

They were faster and quicker than the guys behind them

NFL evaluations

etc.
