The Vols were by no means perfect. We came out flat again. We sucked for the first oh quarter and a half. We hit a lull in the second half of the offense going thru the motions. Among other things, games are one and lost on field position. VT helped us a lot with an unprecedented number of turnovers. Our defense caused many of those. While I agree that VT's offense looks lost let's give some credit where it is due. The defense stepped up in the second half (again) and put our offense in a position to score. We've still got a lot to clean up. The o line is the most obvious thing. From there I'm sure we can all say that situational playcalling has been questionable too. Either way I'm glad we got the W and I feel better about this one than I did about last week's. You should too. You really should. We're 2-0 and after this week should be back in the top 15. No Vol fan has been able to say that in a long time. Let's enjoy this and on Monday we can start identifying the All Americans we'll need to worry about on Ohio's defensive line!😋

We definitely caused at least a couple of those fumbles.

Exactly. TLDR version of my post is give some credit where it's due and that's to our defense. If we had one of the worst returning defenses in the country then yeah V Tech beat themselves. But we don't and they didn't. Or look at it this way: both UT and Tech beat Tech tonight.

Well we did give you a lot of help, it's not like you forced most of those turnovers. The first one in particular completely changed the flow of the game -- how different would it have been had the score gone to 21-0 instead of 14-7? But credit where it's due: you guys capitalized on all of our mistakes, whether forced or unforced. The better team won, simple as that.

VT did do everything in their power to hand that game to us on a platter.

We did some things on Offense well with Dobbs and Hurd running the ball....Passing game still impotent.....:salute:

We could beat UF by 21 in two weeks but if they have fumbles and they pushed out oline around some, people would still be unhappy. Lmao

Look at each one and tell me how many were unforced.

Several were due to hits and strips by our defense.

1st Fumble was NOT CAUSED by UT....
Snap over QB's head NOT caused by UT....

Both led to 14 points....first fumble really changed the game and woke our guys up....

The sad thing is that they needed something like that in order to WAKE UP and actually PLAY with some HEART....:salute:

Pushed our oline around...some? Did you sleep through the first quarter? I'll give Butch props for finally making a personnel change with Thomas, but VT was getting pressure on Dobbs all night with as few as 3 defensive lineman.

You are delusional if you think we aren't going to face defenses better than App State and VT. Florida's D will shred this oline if changes aren't made before the game.

Our defense only caused 2 out of the 5 TOs.

A 21 point win is not really a win again in some quarters even though we were favored by 10??? We won the turnover battle soooooooooo when we create or even dont create fumbles is it the position of some VN posters we should try NOT to recover them so our victories at the end will somehow be untainted, is that REALLY what some of you are promoting?

1. Botched handoff on first TO.
2. Muffed punt.
3. Snap over QBs head.

No Tennessee player directly affected any of those plays to cause the actual TO.

How often have we been on the **** end of the stick in games in years past?

We were on the good side tonight, so you won't see me complaining.
