Since we are playing a pretty tough schedule I hope we can get in without a great record if it boils down to that.Thoughts?

I'd say 18 or 19. Just depends on who we beat, who beats us, and what our opponents do in their games. Our RPI and SOS are great right now.

I like 20, simply because that would mean we played at least .500 ball in the conference. That way, you don't leave any room for someone to argue against your inclusion. 19 would probably suffice, with 18 putting us squarely on the bubble.

20 would be great.

if we won today, id say we were pretty much a lock as long as we even competed in the SEC.

That said, I do think we will still be in comfortably with a record 2 or 3 games above .500 in conference.

An 8-8 finish in SEC play puts UT at 20-11 overall going into the SEC tournament. Given our strength of schedule, I say that's good enough for a 5, 6, or 7 seed. I do feel, optimistically, that UT could get hot and pull off an 11-5 record in the conference and wind up with a 3 or 4 seed. Regardless, barring a complete collapse, we're dancing in March.

with our non con wins 8-8 in the sec would do it for sure. if we only have 18 regular season wins we better make some noise in the sec tourney. that said i would like to see us thinking about more than just getting in the tournament. i would like a decent seed and maybe play close to home.

Agree 100%. 20 wins would be irrefutable.

And though I hate to think this way, I have to assume that some decision makers will be questioning our 2 seed from last year and could penalize us regardless of our credentials this year.

If we dance this year, I like our chances of making some serious noise and ending the year on a high note.

Currently with a 13-4 record, I think the Vols need 21 wins. Hopefully that will get us a 4th seed somewhere. Would be nice if the Vols can get a 2nd place in the SEC East and then hopefully get to the SEC finals. Strength of Schedule (SOS) will be a BIG help!
