What is the logic of picking an L to Florida?

Anyone who is truly neutral will be picking FL. You are kidding yourself if you think otherwise....

Why? Take the names off the jerseys and look at talent and the 2 previous games these coaches have coached against each other and tell me why UF is the pick. We lost a RT which will hurt but they lost their leading tackler and starting safety and that will hurt. We both have questions at QB but the difference is our guy is an upper class man and has been learning the system while waiting his turn. We've shredded their defense and turnovers are about even.

I think the only reason to pick florida at this point was taken away last year when we finally broke the streak. Theyre a dumpster on offense and havent recruited well and i dont see donkey teeth out coaching our guys. I think we are a top to bottom better team right now and win by 14

Seeing SECN guys predicting a loss to Florida, Im just not sure why? They not only got over the hump, but Florida looked like a lot more garbage down the stretch than UT and now will play THREE QBs against Michigan. I really see Michigan taking them to the woodshed. Is it just because its at home and they think Dormady/Gman will fold?
Im worried about the Vols and it IS Florida, but putting myself as a neutral guy, I'd still pick the Vols over UF (while probably picking an L to Georgia and LSU).

trust and credit. they have a track record of reloading on defense, and they trust the skill position players now.

they've won the division b2b with what many would consider really weak FL teams relative to past FL teams that won the East.

and FL has owned us over the last 25 years. us winning is the anomaly.

and it's in gainesville.

and virtually no one "believes" in CBJ to take a team with the ?'s we have and do "more with less".

if you really step back and look at it for what it is, it's not really all that much of a leap to look at 121 and see this team going 7-5.

doesn't mean we will. but no dobbs, no kamara, no barnett, no malone, no vareen, no JRM, no Sutton......and the teams that did have all those guys didn't/couldn't win the division and only won 1 game against FL.

so how does this team really match up??? really?

no one knows for sure, but i certainly understand the lean toward the opponent, outside looking in....

Why quote me if you're just going to ignore my point completely?

in fairness, i think the way the schedule falls this year for that game has something to do with why people are leaning toward KY in that game. it's not the typical late November game as it usually is...it's b2b road games, and playing Bama the week before hasn't always been a good indicator of success immediately after....even if you have a bye after Bama.....:)

looking at the schedule from a KY standpoint, i'd be dreading playing MSU on the road the week before TN. total trap game for them. they have a pretty soft schedule after the FL game, leading up to the TN game.

they get USCe and FL b2b, then (including FL), have 5/6 games at home, with TN after E Michigan, MSU, MO...

conversely, our 5 games up to the KY game are FL, GA, USCe, Umass and Bama.

i don't think anyone thinks that much more of Stoops over Butch or vice versa. for KY it's about schedule and returning players.

Look at 2015 when many were saying the same about the UK game. And if we're going to use the last 27 games vs UF as a data point then let's also include the last 27 vs uk. Hell some idiots still use the Butch vs Dooley game as evidence yet ignore his games vs Stoops. Apply the same logic across the board and there's no rational reason to think UK beats ut

The claim is made to be contrarian or just get a rise out of UT fans.

Dont we play Alabama on 10/21 and Kentucky on 10/28? Wheres the bye week?

Same as 2015. That UK beat down of UT the week after bama was epic huh?

Im not saying we lose to kentucky, just telling you why some people think that. Alot of people believe Kentucky os a better team and that Tennessee will get worse. Couple that with CBJ tendency to always lose a game or two we should and the b2b road games with the first being at Alabama. And that is their logic.

There's a difference between logic and creating things to fit a narrative. One of those is happening here. UK got trendy for some unknown reason and people just got on the bandwagon

don't disagree with you and i'm not saying we're gonna lose.

but when people, whoever they are, say KY over TN, this is generally a principle reason why.

not so much that butch < Stoops or KY> TN....

as to the last part...at least from a media standpoint, i don't think that's accurate.

Okay cool, so we are on the everyone hates us, no love narrative again? My bad. Tennessee has been a pretty trending pick the past couple years.
