Huh?? You act like he's been here 4yrs! Hell he is just getting started, how about giving the guy some time
Incredible isn't it? Sometimes, it's just embarrassing to read some of these posts. Heupel was definitely not my choice for the job, but the man has done miraculous work with this roster all under the dark storm clouds of the NCAA.

I think the point is veing mussed ir my thread got hijacked. Why is our young talent not seeing the field when its obvious we need then to play. If only for one series, our starters are gassed. Its happened 3 fames in a row. Kentucky almost ran 100 plays. The offense had less than 7 minutes in time of possession. The defense is an unintended victim of this potent offense. Can bryson eason or christian charles get some plays to get some key guys s break late 3rd/early 4th quarter??

Exactly. We don’t know if he’ll be the man long term, but he has this team headed into a 7 win season when everyone predicted 4-5. NCAA investigation, injuries and roster depletion ta-boot. The expectations of some of these fans are absolutely ridiculous.

Im sick of this crap. Our defense is thin, and they were banged up and tired. Why cant some of our young talent see the field for a series or two, when we desperately need to get our starters a blow?? Are they trying to save redshirt seasons? We have to have a DL or DB that can play. We need to see if the younger guys can make plays.
He’s calling the plays….players got to execute. Same defense they’ve played all year. Simmer down man. Good win tonight against a good team

Sorry, but so far Heupel can't recruit worth a damn. We need more players on defense!

Outside of some portal talent he hasn't really recruited anyone to this team so how could you possibly know he can't recruit? It remains to be seen. I think Tennessee recruits itself. He keeps it up with this exciting offense and our worries will go away.

Ok....I don't know if this has been explained to you or not... Here it goes.....

Due to the recently closed internal investigation, the first year of this staff, the fact of Tennessee abysmal overall outlook and results on average for a decade. Recruiting isn't great.

Let's break this down further.
Investigation=very negative recruiting by opposition.
Investigation=unknown outlook by prospective athletes.
Investigation/first year staff=there have been unknown/unannounced recruiting restrictions on the staff. These include amount of calls, hours spent, number of off campus staff visits reductions. These were done quietly and to prepay the punishment to the NCAA during this year when this staff has the worst chance of a good class vs future years when on the field success and relationships with juniors and underclassmen can be nurtured and brought to fruition.

Tennessee status=recruits don't see us as you do, they see us as Mississippi state, Kansas, Nebraska, a wannabe.

Huepel will change all of this, he'll get more recruiting success with restrictions being lifted, further success and proof of concept, building relationships with future recruits, and most importantly, seeing a ranking next to Tennessee's name when they show it on the TV.

You guys really don't get it. Our offense exploited their defense all night long for quick strikes. We jumped on them and kept throwing punches to keep the pressure up. On the other side, Kentucky's strategy was to run clock and hold the ball to keep our offense off the field. Basically both offenses played into the situation that Kentucky was going to have a lot of TOP. Now what can you do as a defense in this case? Could play like Kentucky and get torched play after play or we could play soft coverage and let them move the ball all night but a few yards at a time. Make them run more plays to score because they will eventually throw a pick six, miss a field goal, not convert a couple 4th downs.
