What is Josh Richardson's ceiling?

Michigan fans should be afraid of him. He'll be shutting down Nic Stauskus on Friday night. Richardson has been a good third or fourth scorer behind McRae, Stokes, and sometimes Maymon, but his play on defense has been recognized going back to mid-season last year. I know I'm a little biased, but I think the SEC voters got caught up in the Gator hype and gave defensive POY to Patric Young just because he played on the best team in the league. Should have gone to Richardson. He's guarded every team's best scorer and he hold them in check.

As for NBA comparisons, he reminds me a lot of Thabo Sefolosha. Even with what he's doing in the tournament offensively, he'll be noticed by NBA execs for what he can do on defensive. Put him on the opposing team's best two-guard and contribute minimally on offense. I've thought about this basically all season.

Slow down!!! Some on here thought that Tyler Smith & Scotty Hopson would be NBA'ers too.

Let's see how his senior season plays out. Will his game improve or decline? Will he be healthy or injured? Will he get a suspension for an academic or disciplinary reason? How many other college players will improve in the next season?

Remember only 64 players get drafted each year to the NBA. Yet, there are 1300 players in college and many foreign players also........

Tyler Smith had was dismissed from the team on felony (at the time) gun charges, and Scotty Hopson received bad advice to leave early and presented himself poorly to NBA execs, prompting one to say, "He's not from the same planet as us".

That, as much as their physical ability, stood in the way of a chance at an NBA career.

Richardson has improved every year he's been here, so it only stands to reason that it will continue, and you are seeing the offensive ability he has right now in this tournament. He is a model citizen off the court, so any academic or personal improprieties would seem out of character, and thus doubtful at this point.
