Michigan fans should be afraid of him. He'll be shutting down Nic Stauskus on Friday night. Richardson has been a good third or fourth scorer behind McRae, Stokes, and sometimes Maymon, but his play on defense has been recognized going back to mid-season last year. I know I'm a little biased, but I think the SEC voters got caught up in the Gator hype and gave defensive POY to Patric Young just because he played on the best team in the league. Should have gone to Richardson. He's guarded every team's best scorer and he hold them in check.
As for NBA comparisons, he reminds me a lot of Thabo Sefolosha. Even with what he's doing in the tournament offensively, he'll be noticed by NBA execs for what he can do on defensive. Put him on the opposing team's best two-guard and contribute minimally on offense. I've thought about this basically all season.
