I think you hit the nail on the head. The offense is too complicated for a first year starter to run well. I think a good OC would have simplified the plays. You can always add things later as a QB develops.

UT would have been better off with one offensive formation; 2 WR in an offset I formation. Run 10-12 plays out of that formation and execute them flawlessly. Don't worry about 2 TE sets, G-Gun formations, etc. Simplfy things and do a few things well, not a bunch of things poorly.

thats just it man....so far nothing about this offense looks complicated...absolutely nothing....what is so complicated about it...thats my question...

I don't think its complicated, as much as they use a lot of formations, and different plays out of each formation.

I think if they focused on one formation and set of plays and executing them flawlessly they would be better off.

I'm sure switching the blocking scheme up for our OL is complicated, and that is really the only thing that I see that can account for how much worse our OL is this year compared to last year. Our crappy OL play is why we can't run it, and why our QB is sacked or flushed out of the pocket every down.
We have talent on offense. Who did we lose from last year when we scored twice as many points per game? Ainge was good but not that good. Cutcliff knew how to teach, Clawson needs to learn quick. Fulmer needs to try something new, anything for the love of god

G Jones is a playmaker, L Taylor had 1000+ yards last year, Hardesty is a playmaker and so is Creer, not to mention B Warren, but we have no OL and no game plan. It's not all the players' fault

Its kinda like polishing a turd. You can spit shine it, rub it down, put some wax on it. But in the end all your left with is a turd.
