I agree with the general sentiments about him and the role he plays in big decisions at the University. But what is he actually trying to achieve other than being in control? What incentive does he have to press for hiring cheap coaches?

Discuss.

Nothing they just have huge egos and want to control everything. Just wait till Bill is president in a couple of years. There will be no stopping them.

Control... He wants to own the coach. He got Currie hired so Currie would be loyal to him. He wants the same with a coach. He wants the coach to owe him something so he can use it as leverage.

Leverage to get what? What is a football coach going to do for Jimmy Haslam?

My opinion may sound stupid but here it is. I believe that Haslam has lived a very good life. A man who is used to getting whatever he wants whenever he wants. He has pretty much gotten everything he has wanted at Tennessee, until recently. he wanted Schiano and didnt get him.

Now I believe that Haslam is pissed off. He is like a little fat kid throwing a tantrum because mom wont let him have anymore Oreos. I believe Haslam is doing this as punishment. He is being vindictive and petty. He is ssaying to us, you think you are tough? Well take this. I believe he is trying to intentionally torpedo the football program just to show how much power and influence he truly has.

This is what happens when you give donors control. UT could have easily have said to the Haslams, "please donate to the General Fund and we will invest it for you" ... but they didn't.

UT invited the wolf into the hen house.

He thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and no one will tell him what to do. He has the personality of a brick.

I do not know what his objective but all I know that in the last 10 years anything that he has touched football-wise has imploded.

Arrogant- they believe they know more and want to control all aspects of the University… it’s not that they want to destroy it, they are too stupid to realize it! Support not run… they don’t know any better…

Haslam's an incompetent billionaire crook who happens to be the biggest booster for UT. And before anyone says he "built his own company" no he didn't. Daddy built it before handing it off to him.

My hope is that between our coaching debacle, the Browns, and especially the Pilot scandal going on UT administrators finally realize who this guy really is.

A SCAM ARTIST

Everything he touches turns to diddly poo. Until he's gone we're going to be the Browns of college football.
