that is ridiculous dude. UT will never be capable of that.Should be in top 3 of east every year, win it 3/5.
Win SEC 2/5
Be in bowl every year, BCS 3/5.
NC game 1/5, win 1/10.
Never lose more than 3 games/no more than 2 4/5.
Beat Bama 3/5.
Beat Gators 3/5.
Nothing less should be considered as being competitive.

because we are not a powerhouse and we aren't expected to be. A national championship game every 5 years? BCS game 3/5?
It's hard to do with a stagnant program and no in state recruiting base
but every team can't be an elite team. If that happensm then it will just be a crap shoot as to who wins every individual game.
Some great thoughts and opinions.
I think we are all in the same book, possibly in the same chapter, and a few are on the same page.
Here are my thoughts (again tempered by almost 50 years of follwing the VOLS)
Keep the schedule primo...don't back away from playing anybody, east, west, or north (and if Miami and FSU recover play their butts too). I love looking at other fans and saying "What do you think ___________(insert your teams name here) would do playing the same schedule as the VOLS?
Recruit the best athletes who can be students, remain eligible and at least leave UT without a police record! It is important to me that we not be called the "Miami of the Smokeys" see 05 season.
Be in the chatter as a SEC contender, top 10 to 15 team, annually and in the hunt for a BCS bowl 1 of 3 seasons with a shot at an NC 2 or 3 times in a decade...see 1990's.
9 wins annually....Win the SEC east 2 of 4, and the SEC 1 of those years.
Beat bama yearly ( I just can't bring myself to ever concede one freaking game to "those people.")
Beat florida 50%, and be competitive yearly ( I thought we were within a play of beating them 06, thus competitive).
Most of all I want opposing players, coaches, and fans to dread seeing the VOLS, VOL Nation, Neyland stadium, and the color Tennessee orange...FOREVER.
PS: Written completely sober and drug free by a VOL

I'm feelng it, even though it's unrealistic. The younger guys just don't understand the emotions of the Bama rivalry of the 50s-70s. To beat Bama made a 6-4 season seem satisfactory.
We cant beat Florida without dominating the line of scrimmage with 4 lineman,
This is repeated fairly often but it isn't altogether true. They lose several key players including T Brown, Bailey, M Henderson, two OL's, and 4-6 significant contributors on D.... plus their West schedule is Bama, @Aub, and @LSU.Georgia will have just about everybody back. But we have the talent to match-up with the Dawgs.
