That's more like it Droksi! Now you are talking like a true Cal alum! With only x amount of days to go let all that frustration from last year lose. :realmad:
Hitting the Jack Daniels bottle a little early, aren't you?

Could Cal be anymore mid majoresque with this? This is something I would expect at MTSU or Vandy.

This megaphone thing shows how pathetic college football is at Cal. I can see the NBA passing these out, but I really do think they believe football is just a show on the west coast. If they think these things will bother UT, they are completely wrong. Tennessee plays in the loudest stadiums in the country every week. I think they really do believe the noise in that stadium will shock us. I think it'll just fuel the fire.

First, I just want to say I have been reading VN for awhile and want to say it's a good site and the West Coast does have some stuff to learn about how you guys do things in your neck of the woods. I hate trolling and don't want to come across as such, hence the reason I've only been reading and not posting.

Anyways, back to a point. I agree that the megaphones are a dumb attempt to try to increase crowd noise in Memorial. IMO the Student Section does a decent job at making some noise, but that's only 10k people, and less than 15% of the fans. The problem are our apathetic Alumni who sit on their butts quietly. We're lucky if we can even get them to respond to the students' "Hey alumni" cheer (those of you in attendance next week will hear it).

So I can understand how some people making decisions want to try to improve the energy of the fans. However, I do have an inside with the Athletics Department and these megaphones are the idea of one person who is rather new to Cal and it's rich tradition...so new that this person has never been to a Cal football game, didn't know we had a fight song (we have 29), continuously tries to steal other University's traditions rather than highlight our own, as well as countless other atrocities that I would deem unforgivable and should call for their immediate termination.

But that's just my $0.02 and cannot wait to return the great hospitality that I received last year. Good luck!

I have a feeling that even with megaphones, Cal will seem like a night at the library compared to Florida two weeks later.

amen, I've been to almost every school in the SEC and hands down Florida is the loudest, even over the Vols. Plus you have to deal with the largest contingent of white trash fans of any school in the nation...mullets and wife-beaters as far as the eye can see.

No doubt about it. This will be my 3rd trip to the trailer capital and two years ago it was so loud...hmm... how do I word this... you know how when someone screams and its loud and you think it can't get louder, then it seems to hit an almost shreikish level? Like that.
Neyland gets lound but I haven't heard Neyland that loud since the student section in the late 90's.

Neyland is hampered by the bluehair season ticket holders, you know the ones that tell you to sit down fi you stand up to cheer

I disagree. After spending an evening in Tiger Stadium, I thought my eardrum would be permanently blemished.
