Agreed. More specifically I'll take:

Deangelo Willingham
Nevin McKenzie
Eric Berry
Kenny O'Neal

All the JUCO guys should be able to play right away with the personnel holes we currently have. Eric Berry is talented enough to get a lot of PT, as well.

you believe both Melancon and Langley will make an immediate impact?

Yeah, I do. Well, I think if Melancon doesn't, Langley will. If Langley doesn't, Melancon will. Bolden and Williams still need to improve a lot to have my 100% confidence. And an impact could be playing every game and spelling starters. I consider that a good impact from a freshman.

I would be surprised if O'Neal and 2 of Willingham, McKenzie, and Berry aren't starting against Cal. All 3 of those will be starting by UF. Here is a list of the newcomers and what I think they do next year:

Anthony Anderson-redshirt
Deshaun Barnes-redshirt to special teams play
Eric Berry-starts by UF and special teams play
William Brimfield-redshirt(has to qualify)
Todd Campbell-redshirt
BJ Coleman-redshirt

Lennon Creer-backup tailback work
Chris Donald-2 deep at LB and special teams play
Art Evans-redshirt to backup DB work and special teams play
C.J. Fleming-redshirt

Cory Hall-prep school to JUCO
Josh Hawkins-redshirt
Gerald Jones-WR 2 deep rotation and special teams play

By the end of the year, this is my list of possible starters(some not likely though):

Eric Berry
Chris Donald
Gerald Jones
Ben Martin
Nevin McKenzie
Kenny O'Neal
Brent Vinson
DeAngelo Willingham

And there is a trace possibility that these could start by the end of the year:

Lennon Creer
Art Evans
Donald Langley

Even though I don't think he'll play much this year unless an injury bug runs through the linebacking corps but I can't wait to see Chris Donald flying around in Knoxville.

If you haven't watched his recruiting video I suggest you go check it out.

I agree. We don't mention Donald due to our depth at LB, but he will probably be in the 2 deep this season and will emerge most in 2008. Kid's a stud.

The last play on the video is an option play. Donald tackled the running back and QB. It's pretty cool.

Our LB corps is nice this year:

SLB-Karl/Myers-White
MLB-Mayo/Wilson
WLB-McCoy/Donald

That isn't counting guys like LaMarcus Thompson(everywhere yesterday), Dorian Davis(headhunter), and the other newcomers(Barnes, Frazier, Walker).

What's the word on Dre Mathis? I heard he switched to DE. Did he play well yesterday?

What is the word on Vinson's eligibility?

On Vinson, I've heard he has to pass one test and he is in(not sure what class).

On Mathis, he looked pretty good on the plays I watched him. He is a pretty good pass rusher, though he still has work to do.

Is it just me, or does it seem to others that class may never live up to its' hype.

What class? If the incoming class, it is very possible just because it is so hyped. There are playmakers at every position so expectations are high.

It's pretty rare they live up to the hype. The class that was #1 a few years ago hasn't. The class after that, although it got very little hype, has been a disappointment even by the low standards to which it was held.
