Now I'm sure some of you are wondering what am I doing around here..or if I'm here to start trouble...no worries guys and gals...I am a fan of college football.

As a USC fan, (the real USC) I only wish Kiffin the best. He is strongly connected with both of our programs and that means we have common ground. But there's more to it than that.

Tennessee from what I can see is a program on the rise..I was horrified when Paul Hackett was our head coach. He did foolish things, called foolish plays and USC couldn't have fired him a minute too soon. Enter Pete Carrol..the rest is history.

Lane Kiffin has all the tools necessary to turn this program around. And hopefully he uses Pete Carroll's 3 step philosophy..

First year: Observation.
See what is exactly wrong with the program, break bad tendencies and change the mind set. *Do not have high expectations even though Kiffin has held his own against the nations elite thus far. After all, he is inheriting any and everything at this point. This is a defensive year. There is no way to completely revamp the offense, but keeping games close will give you a chance against anyone.

Second Year : Implementation

Inject the program with a heavy dosage of your system but don't over do it. Reveal more schemes and hold players accountable to your system. *This is more of an offensive based year. The defense will get better but offensive development is key..expectations will be higher but again don't buy your SEC championship ticket yet.

Third Year : Execution

The Vols will be very...and I repeat very dangerous in year three. The Defense will only get better and based on the way Lane is recruiting there will be some play makers on both sides of the ball. By now there should be a Heisman hopeful and so other award finalist playing for the Vols..

It gets me excited to see all the enthusiasm around here...the board has very positive energy.. Good luck against the Shamecocks..not that you'll need it.

I dont get how you Lamecocks can down talk Washington...They have won 4 National titles to your 0 and have a overall winning record of 655–398–50 to your 532–531–44. So as a football program Washington > South Carolina.

All over on Cockytalk there are a bunch of Lamecock fans talking trash about programs who have a level of prestige that they couldn't even fathom.

I don't know about that...Doesn't the SEC lose money if we lose games? I would rather keep the money in our conf. if possible....

Well I gotta say to USC Trojan that for an "outsider" if you will...that was probably the BEST post i have ever seen someone from another team post on this board or others....The insight to Kiffin as far as a 3 year/step process was very interesting...I had thought of something similar but the way you broke it down was definately on target and makes alot of sense...I personally cant say that I know that much about Kiffin at ALL other than the fact that something tells me that he is a good coach..and has finally found his home...but the insight you offered for sure seems on point...

I'd rather not get the money if we have to pull for FU.. (or Bama for those of you that just cannot do THAT). It is NOT all about the money... there's more to life.
