What if we had Gruden at HC Lane Kiffin as OC and Monte at DC! But I'm happy with what we got

I met a former player at the beginning of last season that insisted Gruden was going to replace Fulmer should the season be a disaster... And if it went well, Clawson was the heir apparent to Fulmer. Both of these wonderful insights came from his numerous meetings with Hambone..

I just can't fathom that this Air Force guy was even a candidate. That just scares me. How in the hell would he had been considered a "splash"?? It bothers me that someone like a Chris Peterson, or Brian Kelly, or Butch Davis was not the second choice. Calhoun would have made us go "why didn't we go after Gene Chizik??"

Calhoun would've installed an exciting triple option offense similar to Georgia Tech's with a bit more movement...Fun offense but then again I'm old school and love that style.

I'm a fan of Paul Johnson, and the tripple option attack. I just don't think a gimmicky offense like that would work in the SEC consistantly. Not to mention how scary this season would be with virtually no one to run that style of offense...

Yeah your probably right....But don't tell Miss St and UGA that...In those games GT only ran for 438 yds and 409 yds respectfully....People said the same thing about UF's offense and We all know how that turned out :ermm:

I'm glad we got Kiffin. I couldn't imagine us being in a better position than we are now with any other coach, even Butch Davis or Gruden. Kiffin's energy is exactly what this program needed. Tennessee football is back on the map. The recruiting has been as good as one could hope for, and his staff has immense potential.
