I'm one that has given up on Butch as well, I rally like him as a personal, but he isn't the right coach right now. BUT if CBJ puts in JG, and turns this season around (I know very unlikely) we finish 9-3 plus a win in a bowl game. Would you be happy with Butch with JG, Kelly, and weapons coming back?

If JK continues with the season he is having, he ain't coming back. And no.

No. Butch isn't that level of a coach. He makes poor in game decisions and his offense scheme is atrocious.

I think everyone should look at our total offense rankings since he had been here.

Not sure Butch would hang around. I think he would try and find a more favorable environment for himself.

Butch has proved he can't play big boy ball. He can't handle pressure. It is possible that we could go 9-3 if he had players from last season but doubt it this season. Butch can't get an average team and out coach next coach. Basically if they get their stuff together and do decent if fans don't show it will not matter.

JG is gonna hafta get a WHOLE lot better in your fantasy scenario, but yeah sure. However, there's a reason he's playing behind QD, because he's not as good.

Jesus buddy. Try reading your posts before hitting submit. Your syntax is hurting my brain.

QD to this point in the season has a qbr of 117.88. In JG’s limited time his qbr is 83. Maybe JG would improve with more snaps but at this point I’m not sure either have been coached well enough to start in the SEC.

JG is the worst Dual Threat QB I've seen in the SEC this year. I see what the coaches meant when they said JG & QD were more alike than different styles of QB's neither is a running QB or Threat, fact.

I think Butch would be happier elsewhere. I bet he would welcome an "out" from Knoxville especially if it happened on his terms.

To answer the question, no I would not want Butch back.

I think JG has a lot of potential. But he is obviously not prepared to be the guy. His inability to run the offense compared to what UGA's freshman QB is doing may be the biggest indictment of Butch's coaching. Worley started over Dobbs for similar reasons. I would love to see JG take the job and run with it. But I just don't think he has been given what he needs to succeed, even with a QB coach. Much like Dobbs until Jones was forced to go all in on him.

The word was he tried last year. I think he knew this season wasn't going to meet expectations

Everyone keeps talking 9-3 And win a bowl game. Say we do but lose to Bama 65-6 and the other games we win but so ugly it's like watching paint dry. We would be 9-3 But feel like we went 6-6. I like the idea of 9-3. But if we don't show in that scenario that we can compete with top 10 teams we need to move a different direction.
I'm curious to people's thoughts on this scenario. And what if we also face a decent bowl team and get blown out finishing 9-4? What then??

If that 9 includes Alabama we’ll talk.

His numbers are not that good. If he decided to go it would be a huge mistake. The first good d he has seen was this past sat and he rushed for 44yds. He didnt even crack the century mark against Indiana St.

Because he (Kelly) gets hit in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage almost every time he gets the ball. D- Coordinators must love preparing to play us. We are so predictable.

Kelly isn't coming back. He will join Jennings in the NFL.
